'Summertime sadness' was such a huge number 1 hit in my country Lebanon, so when she performed it live here in Byblos, Lebanon 2 weeks ago everyone just went mad for it and started screaming throughout the whole song...

That's great to hear! She's massive in Cyprus too, must have a big European market for her.

And something else great to hear?

Summertime Sadness (Lana Del Rey vs. Cedric Gervais) [Cedric Gervais Remix] [Radio Edit]

:cheer:

That must be the LONGEST iTunes song name ever!

She did it, she actually did it! Another top 10 Lana hit!

I actually can't believe it, it's so exciting! Now for Ride, National Anthem, Blue Jeans to do the same, please!

Who'd have thought this brilliant song would make top ten when one year ago, exactly ONE YEAR the very same song flopped!

It's just unheard of!

It is by far not unheard of. There are many examples of songs having sudden resurgence for various reasons after flopping before.
'Summertime Sadness' never flopped - it was never released over here. This time last year we were getting 'National Anthem'.
Why are people liking that Eliza Doolittle song? There are no redeeming features AT ALL. It physically feels as if your ears are bleeding when you listen to it.

The music is summery and feel good and the lyrics are nostalgic and charming, especially for somebody like me who's more or less the same age as Eliza so grew up with the same cultural influences. And she's very charismatic and joyful. So for me there are loads of redeeming features!

Eliza seems to be doing quite well, I didn't think it get that high, it looks like the only new entry at the moment. And I agree with the post from Gooddelta, the track does feel like a summer tune with some great lyrics on it.

Le Youth seems to be slipping away :(

I'm sure she released Summertime Sadness here, we got National Anthem too.

Hold on, I'll Wiki it.

UK Singles (Official Charts Company)[41] 32

She released it here, 32 peak.

Edit: never mind. That's this week's chart. Wiki moves fast  .

To be expected due to the weekend effect, but hopefully regular R1 airplay might kick in soon and boost it upwards again :D

'Summertime Sadness' was definitely not released in the UK last year. The music video was released on youtube about a year ago though, but only Germany and a few other European countries got it originally. It went straight from 'National Anthem' to 'Ride' here.

Not that it particularly matters, because it's going to be a hit after all, which makes me really happy!! :D

Lana top 10 already! Great to see

Really happy with how well Eliza Doolittle is doing. Loved her debut album, so nice to see her getting a couple hits this year.

How long does the Now! effect normally last? 4-5 weeks?

So pleased for Lana Del Rey having another sizeable UK hit!
Clean Bandit should shoot up the charts tomorrow (today?) if the news from their (non) performance at the Secret Garden Party becomes music headlines, which it could.
Im glad Elize Doolitte is doing well, i had thought she would have ended up a one hit wonder but with her recent top 10 hit with disclosure and now this looking likely to peak top 15 at lowest im glad she will be more than a one hit wonder.

Huh? "Pack Up" reached #5 a few years back and sold over 400k.

Exactly. Before this year, she was a one-hit-wonder with 'Pack Up'.

 41. Soon Come (feat. Liam Bailey) - Shy FX

 60. Dust Clears - Clean Bandit

These not being top 40 yet is such an injustice :(
