Ugh at Jay Z overtaking Eliza! <_<

I'm just wondering if Britney's Ooh La La will do a Cinderella this weekend.

AlunaGeorge please smash your third UK top 40 this sunday! So funny to see their both versions of YWYLI at #66 and#67.

Is tinies preorder not doing anything? Think a OA/OS would have been successful for trampoline because it was his big return and airplay was pretty quick for the song, its all over radio 1 which should mean it'll go top 5!!

It's not commercial which for me is a good thing!

The pre-order is actually at #67 now! :D I think unless Lana/Cedric really shoots up over the rest of the week, there's a good chance he'll enter at #3

Hope it does well, good fresh unique music. Miley is good pop but that's all!

127. Ellie Goulding - Burn

Starting to think this'll be a #1 contender depending on the strength of sales at the time. Not sure about the competition (I know Gaga is releasing 'Applause') but I can see this selling 80k or so.

edit: We now have 6 versions of 'Summertime Sadness' top 1500 again. What.

I think it's probably best if Gaga gets #1, IMAGINE the stans attacking anyone and anything if she doesn't? :drama:

I stan Gaga tbh (just not at a bitter Twitter gay level) but with Burn being so brilliant anyway I'd be more than happy for that to be #1 if Gaga can't be.

Good to see Ellie getting another hit with Burn. Imagine how Leona will feel though, her careers falling apart and she passes on both this and We Found Love, oops . Yes, Rihanna and Ellie are currently bigger names than her but still, it's unfortunate.
I don't think We Found Love would've done anything if Leona released it. I know everybody on here disagrees, but it's a pretty un-remarkable song, would've gone unnoticed by anybody else, especially since there were so many songs like it beforehand. So Leona shouldn't feel too bad about it imo.

Pretty sure you are just saying that because you dislike the song. But I agree that it would not have really suited her voice probably.

Agreed. It would've flopped in her hands. I mean, Leona couldn't even turn a song written by Emeli Sande into a hit, so it's pretty obvious that it's not just the songs (or promotion whatsoever) but there's something about Leona herself that turns people off these days.

I think it's more to do with the fact that she hasn't shown much versatility. When she promoted "Trouble" she pretty much did the acoustic version at most of her promotional slots. It could have done much better if she just did the original version with a big stage production and Childish Gambino coming over to perform it on the X-factor with her imo. Plus, her label could have reduced the song to 59p after the first couple of weeks to give it some longevity. Also, her airplay has been rather weak ("Trouble" never went top 50 despite Radio 1/Radio 2 support). "Glassheart" should have been released as the lead single in summer, followed up by "Come Alive". Her team is just SO bad. But at least she has new management now, so hopefully some things will change.

In regards to "We Found Love", I don't think Leona would have had a hit with it. Calvin said Leona's version was more like a ballad. In regards to "Burn", I do think that could have done well if Leona polished it up and released it. But oh well.

Leona Lewis "Run" to #69. 59p for a 5th week! :cheer:

It's nothing to do with the songs Leona Lewis gets its just she's not 'popular' which is so important for chart hits!
'Burn' certainly wouldn't have been a hit for Leona anyway, I don't even know why it's looking to be big for Ellie. Bland and not excessively catchy either.

As much as I love Ellie I do agree with you. I dont mind Burn, but I am so confused why it looks like it is going to be a big hit. Anything Could Happen sounded like one, this just sounds like something she recorded for the sole purpose of keeping her name out there.

Rudimental up to 23

Imagine Dragons up to 26

Disclosure up to 29

Kanye West up to 31

Edward Sharpe up to 42

Clean Bandit up to 52

AlunaGeorge at 65+66

Britney down to 74

Not much of an Ellie fan bar a handful of songs, but 'Burn' is wonderful! I have no idea why I've latched onto it as much as I have considering I find her a bit overrated, but I have. I still think she missed an opportunity with 'Believe Me' :(
i'll be gutted if tinie tempah doesn't get #01, considering it'll be the best #01 in absolutely ages.

To paraphrase Winston Churchill 'Except for all the others.' :P
