Hopefully the remix has done well enough for it to chart officially at #74 or #75 next week. I want it to beat Pixie's top 75 record :kink:

Pixie had a huge jump to #1 but it's not the overall record it seems. As someone mentioned earlier, Westlife jumped from #200 to #1, and if I recall correctly, The Military Wives went to #1 from something like #164.

But Ellie could potentially make the record for a solo artist!

I did say 'top 75 record' :P as obviously the 200 - 1 jump is unbeatable

Lily Allen's "The Fear" jumped 168-1.

But don't forget in the chart book they are marked as new entries.

Seeing the tiger striped font at the end of the video, I hope 'Roar' has a tribal sound to it. I'd love Katy even more if she went down that route.

I don't know why but I think Katy Perry's new one is going to be crap. I feel like she's gonna try too hard to break away from the pop sound and it'll end up sounding a mess. I'm envisaging something like Run The World, aka not a bad song, but not something that's gonna set the charts on fire.

I hope I'm wrong though!

She worked with Dr.Luke on the song and he said this on twitter

it's not dark but it does sound different !!! still positive, uplifting.. catchy !!!

So I don't think it's going to be much different to what she's done before. Can't wait to hear it though. Hope it will be OA/OS.

It could be anything really. Dr. Luke has done pop-rock for Pink, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne, etc, hip hop for the likes of T.I., Three 6 Mafia, B.o.B and so on and electropop for Ke$ha, Flo Rida, Britney Spears, etc. Not to mention he does a mixture of tempos, fast songs, ballads, mid-tempos and of pop, adult contemporary, rhythmic. If it was produced by RedOne or Calvin Harris you'd know for sure what it'd sound like, but with Dr. Luke it's not so predictable imo. I can't really imagine in my mind what Katy's song will sound like. It could be really uneventful like Part of Me, or quite out there like E.T.

I hope it's more 'E.T.' and far less 'Part Of Me'. I was sold on 'E.T.' as soon as I heard the leaked demo online back in June 2010. When Katy gets it right, she is amazing!

I totally agree with this. I was not a fan of Part of Me at all, it was so average IMO especially for a lead single, whereas I thought E.T. was impressive ~ although not the biggest fan of Kanye's part admittedly (and those gold(?) teeth in the video just why). So yeah I hope she goes for more of that direction. :P

Yeah. I think maybe it would be more like E.T. since mainstream music has headed more in that direction (currently there's We Can't Stop, Trampoline, Blurred Lines, Love Me Again and Holy Grail in the top 10 on iTunes). Whilst I don't think a song like California Gurls or Hot N Cold would do so well now.

Has this song ever appeared in the top 1500? i know there's one person here that loves this song

make it 59p please iTunes

This will be in the top 10 by this time tomorrow.

No it won't.

The remix went Top 10 as it was actually available.

I thought the 'E.T.' video was amazing! Is it me or did Katy look like Mel C at one point in it?

699. Olly Murs - Right Place Right Time

The music video for this has now been released and it is playlisted on Capital, I really hope this can go top 10 as it is such a fantastic song!

Cali Swag District came and performed where I live last year. I've never seen Burn Out in the top 1500, and I don't think I've ever heard it before, but their song Teach Me How to Dougie I sometimes see in the top 1500. However, I don't think it ever actually charted officially, but whenever Teach Me How to Dougie comes on in a club everybody knows the dance to it.
