One bad song going to #1 does not justify other songs going to #1 just because they're not quite as atrocious!

 

True but considering they're two decent songs, I say it should.

This is turning into a proper hit :o I'm not a big fan of it but Jay-Z doing well with an OA/OS single is great to see. Now if only Kanye did the same thing with Black Skinhead :(

"#Beautiful" #47. Nice to see it holding on. I didn't realise, but it became Mariah's longest running top 40 hit (exlcuding ALWFCIY) last week, with 13 weeks in the top 40! ("We Belong Together" had 12 weeks). Great longevity :wub:

'Holy Grail' is a much more obvious hit single than 'Black Skinhead' to be fair, I think Kanye has done extremely well for what the song is (and the fact it never made the R1 A-list as well).

Moan aside, I'm thrilled to see it looking to climb into the T10 and give both artist another T10 to their name. Wonder what and how single #2 will do.

Oh gwon Le Youth! ( to #31 now). Looks like my fear it'd die completely after it was no longer Nick Grimshaw's Record of the Week turned out to be unfounded, it's at least looking like a minor top 40 now. Really should be at least top 20 though.

 

I was about to say 'oops at Haim' but just checked and that one is also an album pre-order track (I thought I didn't recognise the title), so not really doing too bad considering. I think they've left their album release far too late, the hype for them is more or less dead now. Not heard the new single yet but 'Forever', 'Don't Save Me' and 'Falling' are all great.

 

Le Youth is doing just fine it could be alisted on radio 1 this week and that'll give it great airplay, could be alot of climbing yet!!

YES! Although it's their second best song for me (I adore 'Say (All I Need)' more - it's in my top 20 songs ever).

 

I don't understand why they cancelled its release here. The Ralph Lauren advert that used the song was being played a lot and I'm sure radio would have picked it up if they hadn't cancelled the release. :(

I have no doubt it would have been a hit. It always rebounded up the iTunes chart whenever it got played on some random digital, cable shows ('Gossip Girl' mainly I think), it really should have been given a proper push over here, especially as 'All the Right Moves' wasn't a complete flop and this would have out done it anyway. I think it's due X Factor exposure soon. It's very XF friendly so would be lovely if it could capitalise on it.

Aw man! Hope OD don't fall out of the top 10 too soon. Great song! CiCi holding up nicely too. Iggy really flopped with this, didn't she? :( I thought it would have been an easy top 10 hit. Heard that Mika song for the first time a couple of days ago, got me wanting to listen to 'Life In Cartoon Motion' again <3 Imagine Dragons in the top 300 with (hopefully) the next single is a pleasing sign to see ('On Top of the World' is currently on an advert, hence why it's in and out the top 100 a lot) and OneRepublic back in the top 300 with one of the songs of the year :wub:

Glad Holy Grail is becoming a hit for Jay Z. No way was Black Skinhead ever going to be in contention to match that but as Bray said it's doing about as well as can be expected for it :lol:

 

Good to see Let Her Go out of the top 10. May it never return again (unlikely).
