 90. Jessie J "It's My Party"

Agree that she should release OA/OS, but "Wild" is still in the T40. September 15th isn't too far off really, hopefully another T5 hit at least.

Its nearly 6 weeks away lol life years in the singles chart, if she doesnt do OA/OS surely a release on 19/8 would have worked out better, depending on when airplay starts for it!

Course itll still be top 5 but unless its very popular it will not have much longevity!!

It'll be interesting to see how It's My Party performs considering that it's her first proper non-OA/OS release. I know Domino officially premiered a long while before it was included on the re-release but airplay only kicked in once it had been released IIRC.
I think it's excellent, I'm just gutted it won't chart. It was just outside the iTunes top 40 on Sunday if I remember.

Surely it will chart if it's in the top 30 and climbing?

 375. Emily Burns - Plasters, Glitter and Glue [Radio Edit]

Wow, did NOT expect this to be anywhere near the top 500!

It was played on Sarah Cox's 10am - 1pm show earlier, that might of helped. Really nice track.

It's an album pre-order track. They could have changed the rules but I figured that was why Cher's Woman World didn't chart (or nobody gave a crap).

They got rid of that rule at the start of this year, initially to allow David Bowie to chart but it's remained gone since and plenty of album pre-order tracks have charted, including 'Mirrors' which would have been excluded from the chart while it was #1 if the rule hadn't gone :P 'Take Back The Night' has a peak of #45 so far and has been top 100 for 3 weeks.

That definitely did not trouble the top 200. But yeah, as Bré said it's been charting for 3 weeks except outside the top 40.

Should be new entries then this week for Trampoline by Tinie, Miley Cyrus and risers for Rudimental, Disclosure & Justin Timberlake & Le Youth!

Price Tag was on the radio for more than 6 weeks before its release and had amazing longevity and sold a million. Not sure how this will do though, you could be right.

Wasnt Price Tag on of the first 'official' OA/OS releases in Jan 2010 when they premiered the song on radio and the video on the same day? Maybe it was on you tube or places like that before this date?

No, it's not true at all. I heard it on the radio multiple times before release on different stations. It was being played on Radio 1Xtra since 2010, and the first time I heard it was on the New Years Day special of the Big Top 40 Show (on January 1st 2011), so that was when it got its first play on Capital, Heart, etc. Then like 2 months later it gets released and everybody is going on about how it's on air, on sale. :drama:

Here, Wednesday 3rd November 2010 Price Tag was played on Radio 1Xtra: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00vkk6s And I'm not sure if that was even its premiere.

EDIT: Thursday 28th October 2010 they also played it: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00vhxz7 And again, they might have played it before then, but I can't be bothered to check any further. But really, it's not even remotely close to being in air, on sale. If this was happening with one of Rihanna's songs nobody would be saying that imo.

Eric, that was a live acoustic version of 'Price Tag'. The single version wasn't officially sent to UK radios until 31st January 2011, which incidentally is when it was released.
I count OA/OS as a song being premiered and available for download straight away, ala Notorious/Til The World Ends/Born This Way/other songs from 2011. If a song is being performed months before it's released then people are aware of it and it has plenty of time to attract attention before it's released. I remember clicking on 'Price Tag' on a thread on this forum and liking it and I can remember people saying "hopefully this goes to #1" and stuff. It was definitely well known about before it got sent to radio.

Maybe this is what i was trying to say but obv from Eric's evidence the song was 'around' before the radio edit was sent out. I remember there being a big MW investigation into the effects of it thats how i remember it being the first big example of OA/OS!

Yeah, if that was the case then people were aware of it. But there is a difference between that and DP building momentum for a future release like for Get Lucky.

great to see London Grammar are Greg James' Record of the Week!!
