October 22, 201311 yr This is all very even! Frances was the underdog going into tonight but I can see her nicking this.
October 22, 201311 yr Author ...a bit like John last year... Ruby is definitely out of it so it's Frances or KIMB.
October 22, 201311 yr My favourite person won! <3 Kimberly was great too though. I've always had an unhealthy dislike for Ruby but she grew on me a lot in that episode.
October 22, 201311 yr Author The whole wedding cake thing played nicely into Frances' hands as design was always going to be important. Pleased for her as I thought they were really harsh on her at times during the series. It just feels kinda anticlimatic after you guys have been so KIMBERLY v RUBY all season long. :D
October 22, 201311 yr That was pretty unexpected, but well done to Frances. Her wedding cake did look good, but Kimberly's looked better on the inside.

Who were you behind?
October 22, 201311 yr I could sense that Francis might snatch it at the last moment. Nice how two years running they've given us the least expected winner taking it. And I am PRO-Francis and her abnormal teeth, so overall, a good result to a moderatley satisfying series.
October 22, 201311 yr The right person won in the end. Kimberley didn't deserve to win after her soggy bottom, and the same for Ruby after the wedding cake. And anyway Frances was consistently fab from episode 1 without any major errors along the way, despite the fact that Paul refused to stop going on and on about the whole "style over substance" rubbish. Glad she proved herself to him in the end though.
October 22, 201311 yr A bit of a shock, it seems like they gave the title to 'mid-table mediocrity' rather than the true outstanding bakers. Besides, Frances was rock solid last in the technical challenge. I think despite Kimberley's absolute crisis in the first challenge she should have won because she won the technical and managed to deliver a very clever (though visually quite dull) wedding cake. Ho hum.
October 22, 201311 yr SO HAPPY with the result, even though I do agree that she probably wasn't the best. Ruby was stone cold last this week though, but Kimberley fudged it all up with that boring presentation.
October 22, 201311 yr I did however like what Ruby had to say about weddings though - "an exercise in narcissism". YES. Also: a complete waste of £20,000. Edited October 22, 201311 yr by Doctor Blind

Ho hum. But that was Kimberley's big problem. The wedding cake looked lovely inside but looked very, very boring outside. That's not what you want for a wedding cake.
