A compilation album called Teenage Dirtbags? Sounds like the sort of name those people that make those fake cover versions would use.

Well I don't know :D

But the album is full of those punk-rock songs that were famous at the start of the 2000s (Wheatus, Puddle of Mudd, OPM, Alien Ant Farm, Blink-182, Smash Mouth etc)

Tracks from 'Teenage Dirtbags' (now #1 on the albums chart) in the top 200:

60. Teenage Dirtbag - Wheatus

67. Stacy's Mom - Fountains of Wayne

98. In Too Deep - Sum 41

100. All the Small Things - Blink-182

115. Heaven Is a Halfpipe (If I Die) - OPM

118. All Star - Smash Smouth

140. Girl All the Bad Guys Want - Bowling for Soup

178. She Hates Me - Puddle of Mudd

180. Smooth Criminal - Alien Ant Farm

Some good tunes there ('Stacy's Mom', 'In Too Deep', 'Smooth Criminal') and some... not so good. Makes sense that Wheatus are the highest given it's the title track, but that version at #60 - at 99p - is in addition to the already charting version which is still 59p but actually lower (#87). Even 59p is 59p too much to spend on such an awful song (please stay out of the top 40 thank you), but a lot of people are being conned out of an additional 40p there

We really don't need Teenage Dirtbag back in the top 40  Stacey's Mom is welcome though!

Wow.

I care about Kano!!

Have they showed a re-run of Top Boy or something? Still Speedin' managed top 20 partly off the back of it when it first aired.

The new series of Top Boy started on Tuesday. I couldn't see any boosts for So Solid Crew songs though.

All those songs remind me of high school  Surprised OPM never recharted before, it seems like one of those 'forgotten until you hear it and love it all over again' sort of tracks.
I definitely know 'Heaven Is A Halfpipe' and I think I like it, but I can't actually remember how it goes at all. Might have to YouTube it.

So much for lady gaga shooting to number 1 after the video lol. What a disappointing start to the era.

Wow, that's amazing. The first series must have been a success then. Which famous music stars in it this time? Might cause some re-entries in the top 1000 again lol.

Same for me (except worse, since I should be old enough to remember it easily ).

I think this has pretty much been EXTENSIVELY covered over the last two weeks, we need to LET IT GO now. Continuing to focus on this looks like trolling and may result in a warn.

Just read these lines and you'll remember it...

If I die before I wake, at least in heaven I can skate. :D

Shamefully (or not), I love all of those songs!

I do recognise the lyrics but I can't remember the melody :P

I still can't believe it never went top 10. :o (if my memory of Bre correcting me recently is right). Always thought it peaked at #6.

It was a REALLY busy week in early 2004, but I think it's one of those songs that became more famous since it was released (kind of like 'Mr Brightside').

Yeah, it definitely became more famous since its release. I think the video definitely helped, as I still see it played on TV channels. Just checked the charts for that week and there were 3 new entries ahead of it in the Top 10. There were also 4 new entries behind it in the Top 20 - oh the days when you'd get 8 new entries in the Top 20!

I wish we could get so many new entries in the chart today. :( At least this week we've got probably 4 straight into the top 10, but probably not many more lower down. I wish some of the older songs would just disappear...

Just bought it yesterday and played on the way home from Brighton.

All the small thing's, She hates me, Stacey's mom & Steal my sunshine

nice trip down memory lane tbh.

You're probably right but I remember seeing the video SO MUCH on the music channels in 2004 to the point where it'd be playing on various music channels simultaneously. I actually thought it was a #1 before I thought I read somewhere that it was #6.

Why does Drake never climb when he gets into the top 10? I guess there's a huge gap between him and GaGa, it'd just be good if he can get in there officially this week.
