September 19, 201311 yr He made one of the best known British hits of the last decade, I see no reason why he doesn't deserve his place on the panel. *two http://www.troll.me/images2/carrick-riot/i-predict-a-riot.jpg
September 19, 201311 yr I think Ricky is a very inspired choice. He's less MOR than Danny, imagine he'll certainly be quite out spoken. The BBC obviously wanted him last year/two years and whatever reason he turned them down / vice versa. He might not have had a chart hit with the Kaiser Cheifs in a while, but they're still a pretty popular band. Always attract large crowds as festivals and their gigs usually always sell out. The BBC needed a younger act. It's interesting that the panel skews pretty old now, maybe that's what the BBC are after. I didn't even bother with the second series, but launching in January is a wise move.
September 19, 201311 yr Ricky's a pretty good signing! Danny was much better than him for eye candy but that's it really, for me he didn't bring a lot and seemed quite disinterested. I forgot Danny was leaving and thought he was replacing Will, so I thought 'don't him and Danny just fill the same void more or less?'
September 19, 201311 yr I shall await a Kylie/Ricky duet now tbh :smoke: http://www.virginmedia.com/images/kaiserkylie-gal-qawards.jpg Edited September 19, 201311 yr by Regina
September 19, 201311 yr *two http://www.troll.me/images2/carrick-riot/i-predict-a-riot.jpg Yes, I was talking about I Predict A Riot. Ruby less so (even though the hook is much more memorable) but it's still obviously well known. My point is that no matter what you think about the decision, he's more qualified to tell singers what to do than some other contenders for the position.
September 19, 201311 yr I actually agree with Griff. While Ricky wouldn't have been my first choice, or even that obvious a choice to me, I think he'll make a brilliant coach. Employment is a brilliant album, probably my favourite of the "indie-rock" explosion that happened in 04/05. I still regularly listen to both 'I Predict A Riot' and 'Everyday I Love You Less And Less'! They have a great reputation as a live act and clearly have great experience in songwriting and scoring a couple of huge hits. I think that makes him quite well suited to being a coach. I thought the point of the coaches on the voice was to have people with talent and experience to guide and mentor the performers on getting the most out of their incredible vocal abilities. Kylie is also an incredible get for the BBC. Nobody survives for that long in the industry without serious savvy and ability. She's a brilliant vocal talent and I think her personality and star power is brilliant for the show.
September 19, 201311 yr ^ Or they blew the budget on Kylie and had to settle from someone who would accept peanuts. I ain't too fussed tbh. But i thought they would have got someone a LITTLE more relevant like Will Young or James Morrison. Nvm. No, they've gone for Ricky Wilson, not his bandmate Nick "Peanut" Baines.
September 26, 201311 yr Jessie J has revealed she'd love to help new coach Kylie Minogue on The Voice. Just piss off like you intended and let Kylie settle into the role when it does come around PLEASE. She obviously doesn't want to leave or can't accept the fact someone's replacing her if she's itching to still have some sort of involvement.
September 26, 201311 yr In return Kylie can teach Jessie how to sing properly and not to be such a cunt.
September 28, 201311 yr In return Kylie can teach Jessie how to sing properly and not to be such a cunt. !!! I think Jessie decided to leave when realised that the show was determined as a flop and not relevant by many critics/media/people etc. Now that Kylie gets in and (probably) the show has another revamp she wants to claim it back at least for a bit. It seems I'll be watching the Voice UK again with Kylie and Ricky being added on. I wouldn't have watched it had the judges panel stayed the same. Edited September 28, 201311 yr by Arrs
October 2, 201311 yr http://static.tellymix.co.uk/files/2013/10/the-voice-uk-2014-coaches.jpg Kylie looks amazing in that seat, much more-so than J-J-Jessie J
October 3, 201311 yr Just found this from someone who went to the recording today: went to the auditions tonight! Some good acts, I won't spoil it for you. Very unique artists. One thing I will say, do not expect Kylie to be a bad coach. She was critical when needed, fun, flirty, caring, kind and so much more. A brilliant coach, you could just see it. She and Will.I.Am seemed very good together too, he really has taken a shine to her it would seem, as has Tom Jones. A really good addition. Im VERY excited!
October 3, 201311 yr That was to be expected of Kylie, really can't wait to see her when the series begins. Is Ricky just the outcast like Danny was then? Nobody "getting along" with him, but he has a presence there nonetheless?
December 8, 201311 yr Saw the wildcards round of this on Friday! Was so good. Hate to disappoint you guys but Kylie was pretty terrible, really flimsy floppy judging with no real critique and the acts she picked were TERRIBLE. She has the weakest team for sure. A girl called Jade was absolutely amazing and she put through some other terrible girl who could barely sing a note in tune over her. Then another guy called Jamie who sang Sex On Fire who had the crowd, all the judges going crazy but he is overrated to f***. So boring. Ricky's team surprised me, it is full of divas! Christina-Marie is possibly going to be the next Leah, but hopefully make it. She looks fairly plain but oh my god ... her voice is something else. She has a Mariah esque voice and hits the notes so effortlessly, I think she is my pick of people to keep an eye out. Another girl who looked like Tulisa pre X Factor fame who sang Slip by Stooshe was amazing too.

December 20, 201311 yr It's going to start on January 11th, hopefully it manages to do well in it's new slot as it won't have the competition in the press with BGT.
