The video is fantastic! Katy is one artist who never seems to disappoint with her videos (except 'Part of Me')!
The video is beautiful. I love the scenes with the flowers towards the end.
Beautifully shot video and it is good, but I'm not really sure it has a point.

That was my thought. I spent the whole time thinking "where's the storyline?".

Wow, that video is stunning, both visually and emotionally, definitely up there with 'Firework' and 'Wide Awake'. Love that she's actually gone through with this message too, and it's rather beautiful to watch.

Really stunning men.

Indeed. Those parts towards the end :kink:

I get the point about the lack of storyline but regardless, what a stunning video - the imagery is really something special, actually gave me goosebumps. She just excels at videos with ease.
That's the thing with Katy, her team actually know what they're doing and they always get the single choices just right and I think that's a big part in why she's so at the top of her game.
Caught the end of this video on a music channel yesterday morning, it looked absolutely stunning. Not quite the Roar video but I wasn't expecting that again for this song. It looks visually amazing and suits the song perfectly.

Of course, any video with Katy in is bound to look good! :)

Brilliant performance of Unconditionally at the AMAs. I expected I repeat of the EMAs performance a few weeks ago, it's wonderful they decided to do something completely different.

Some of those comments on youtube are hilarious! Basically saying she ain't allowed to wear that in her performance because she's not oriental or whatever?! LMAO. Bizarre. :\

I know, that's sad. And I feel like there are more and more of those comments lately (like Iggy Azealia recently) but it's totally stupid and worrying. I find it really interesting when they get inspired from other cultures, that's what makes the world a better place. Especially since there was nothing offensive in this performance, it was more like a tribute to japanese culture.

Anyway, I was blown away by her performance, she really puts so much efforts into it, and it looks incredible.

I watched it live last night, absolutely stunning performance, one of the best I've seen of her actually
In an interview didn't she say she literally wanted to "skin Japanese people" and "wear them like Versace." ?

No, just one Japanese person. It was a very dumb statement tbh. She said she was obsessed with Japanese people on the whole as well.

One of the comments I read said it so well... If she dressed up in a viking costume would people be as mad as they are now discussing how Norwegian people are so insulted and offended and stuff? Or the same with French Marie Antoinette, if we're talking females specifically? Erm... no. How is Japan different from Norway, France or any other country all of a sudden? ~oh noez, she was dressed up as a geisha, let's look into a deeper meaning... she probably just wanted to show that those dresses are uncomfortable, that probably means women don't feel too comfortable wearing them and that means they are opressed and can't say anything about it and that's why she's mocking asian women! that probably means she is for animal cruelty and hates black people and asians and even white people including herself! didn't she attempt to rape a baby? (oh wait that was another singer, nevermind that last one (DANG it'd have been such a great story tho :'( )) coz it just makes sense! duhhhhhh. voila! genius! brilliant! going to my next article. gotta search for negative reactions from asians on twitter to back it up and i'm set 2 go~

People have used other cultures in their music / performances for AGES, non? I don't know why it has become such a hot topic in 2013 with people acting like it's a brand new thing. Nothing wrong with it too if everything is factual, unless you make a clear mockery or show disrespect, even if it's done just for the succe$$. Promoting other cultures is never really a bad thing.

Still not a fan of the song which is a shame because I'm normally v ON BOARD with her single choices. The video is quite nice, but she basically just stands there? It would have been nice to see her a bit more involved in the dance and whatnot.

Dumb and racist ^__^
