"Breaking Bad" effect. "Baby Blue" was never a UK hit, they did have three hits all of which made the Top 10 with "Come And Get It" the best known.

Thanks for the info!!! I never knew this band..I will search for their discography

No.18 Lucy Spraggan - Last Night (Beer Fear)

Nice song. I didn't like her when she was contestant on X-Factor last year but i loved her since she left. The same happened to me with Misha B..

No.65 & No.148 Badfinger - BABY BLUE

Charts need an original rock song from the past!!!

81. Des'ree - I'm Kissing You

I can't believe that this song only charted at 137 in U.k..Shame!!!!!!

No. 98 Capital Cities - Flop and Sound

It seemed that it would be successful..On the contrary, it failed so hard..

Misha B had the opposite effect on me. :P I really liked her when she was on The X Factor, but what she produced after she was booted out... :drama:

Lucy on the other hand has been great from when she auditioned to where she is now, although 'Mountains' really should be more successful than 'Last Night (Beer Fear)'. :(

Hopefully it will get a better peak this week! :D

Just heard "Walking On Air" and katy is bringing it once again! I Love it.

Glad to see 1R and Demi will both be getting to #1/top 10 this week too.

7,19,Craig David,Hot Stuff

^ There was a popular mash-up of this and Bob Sinclair at the time. Craig David used to be everywhere, but I don't think he'd be able to get another chart hit now.

13,8,Britney Spears,Gimme More

^ The DRAMA in the media when this song was out. What's happening with Miley Cyrus atm reminds me of it.

14,NE,T2 featuring Jodie Aysha,Heartbroken

^ I really love this song. I really miss this kind of music being in the charts, although we've had La La La and a few Disclosure hits which are kind of reminiscent of it.

Me too (not the legs part though ). I'd probably prefer Eminem to be #1 though. There's also Wrecking Ball though I think, which I could see getting #1.

I know i think Hot Stuff was Craigs last big single here/top 10 hit even radio 1 supported it (blist). Those charts were pretty good sort of a mix of early noughties artists holding onto relevancy by the skin of their teeth & new artists that are even bigger now!!

Have to say even though im not a fan of held back releases im looking forward to seeing first week sales for James Arthur later this month with the XF performance beforehand, could be the biggest first week of the year!!

Why has Lorde moved the release back again from this sunday - stupid!!

Walking On Air sounds very 90s dance! Lovin' it, future single please.

9 & 102 Katy Perry - Walking On Air

There's a touch of 'Stock Aitken & Waterman' about this track

Not really, it depends if it's being pushed by radio etc.

But they can start playing any old song again if they like, Ordinary People and One Day Like This both picked up huge amounts of extra airplay after going top 10 last year. They weren't released again.

I think "re-promoted" is more accurate these days than "re-released"
Anyone heard the wonderful Sia's new track on Zane Lowe last night its a collaboration with Diplo & co!!

Yeah. Also Make You Feel My Love, Don't Stop Believin', etc. got more airplay.

However, a re-release probably means the label will ask radio stations to play it, so it'd get more airplay than if they were left to do it of their own accord.

I've not heard it yet, but if it's produced by Diplo it's bound to be amazing.

^^ Its also got The Weeknd on it too with diplo, its record of the day on radio 1 today & its not released until mid november!!
Hopefully it will get a better peak this week! :D

I'm not a massive Katy Perry fan but I love this track! Hopefully it can go top 10 on Sunday!

One Republic at number 1...I'm in shock, I wonder if they could hold on and make it to the top of the chart! Anything other than Talk Dirty at number one would be an improvement

It peaked at #83 late last year.

Lorde has been out on the same week as James for a while now. She should really not release that week as she'll probably have no chance at #1 now. But what can you do?

Badfinger's most famous song is one which they didn't have a hit with, but got to #1 for two other artists. "Without You", which topped the chart for both Nilsson and Mariah Carey. Great to see the Breaking Bad effect give them a boost.

Is it not? I can see it available to download now (from The Hunger Games soundtrack that it's taken off). Showing up at #321, hope it goes a lot higher, beauty of a track.

"Do You Think Of Me" was one of my favourite songs last year..I hope it will have the same luck with "A Thousand Years" and "Skyscraper" someday..

No.42 Maxsta - Wanna Go (feat. Little Nikki)

I support Maxsta with my posts. It sounds good.

No.84 Daley - Broken

This is a big improvement after his collaboration with Jessie J..

Talk Dirty  #2

Roar  #3

Something Really Bad  #9

Walking on Air  #10
