Big drops for HAIM, Birdy and London Grammar in the singles makes me unhappy. :( But the possibility that HAIM could be number one in the albums this Sunday is very pleasing indeed! I presume the 700 copy gap means their sales are higher than expected rather than Justin's are lower than expected.

That depends on what you're expecting. I wouldn't predict Justin to do more than about 40-50k with the complete collapse of his hype.

I'm surprised The Vamps are number 1, but then again the pre orders and multiple copies have probably helped though I doubt they will be number 1 on Sunday, at least I hope not as it will drop like a brick next week...

Good to see a clear out on both charts, but over the moon for Chase and Status at 5!! Shame Lost and Not Found had its chances of being another top 5 hit ruined by their stupid record company!

That gap between JT and Haim is crazy...I was expecting a bigger lead for JT but I guess his lead will increase, fingers crossed for Haim to get a shock number 1 album

6 Demi Lovato - Skyscraper ^

12 Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up ^

37 Emeli Sandé - Clown ^

I want to cry... Why people sing these on tv and good old songs get ignored

The album has been able to pre-order for months though and I seem to remember it doing very well back when he did have lots of hype (that said I don't think he's lost that much hype, if you're talking about the performance of 'Take Back the Night', don't forget it's release was quite messy - released when 'Tunnel Vision' was being promoted which had a negative effect for both singles).

Nevertheless, if Justin does make only 40k-50k and there is still a close gap between him and HAIM, I'll be more than happy with HAIM's sales.

Wow. First time in ages I've literally never even heard of the #1 before.

The Kworb archive says '2 Of 2' reached the dizzy heights of #22 on pre-orders when it was first added and spent about a week in the top 100, only re-entering since for a couple of days in early August and again recently (the archive only goes up to 7 Sep but I'm pretty certain it continued to plod along outside the top 100 right up until about a week before release). Not exactly 'very well'.

I swear it did better than that, but perhaps I got confused between the positions of this and the first version at the time.

Anyhow I'm sure 3.25k per day won't be hard for OneRepublic to make up so unless further information comes on Friday I still think they've got the #1 in the bag.

Fantastic to see Chase & Status in the top 5 and I think they will hold onto that (a second #5 to go with their second #9, maybe a second #2 album to top it off? Won't hold my breath on that one though). Top 10 for Dizzee already is great too, was a bit worried he'd do a Ray Foxx and miss the top 10 due to his slowish start but he should hang on there. Great position for 'Get Like Me' too, hope that can stay top 20, really loving it at the minute

Two Door Cinema Club, Fuse ODG and Maxsta are all proving to be slow-burners on iTunes, will be great to see them adding to a nice variety of new entries this week. Two Door Cinema Club are really very long overdue a top 40 hit and it's kind of a shame they had to go down the dance-pop route to get there but 'Changing Of The Seasons' isn't a bad song at all.

Wasn't expecting to see Dizzee and Sub Focus in the top 10 albums, they'll both drop out by Sunday but not doing too bad to be there midweek! (Okay maybe Dizzee should be doing quite a lot better than midweek #9 but still. He really should have released this album a while back as he was originally going to). And I see that 'The Complete Experience' is charting separately for Justin - a 1-1-1-1-33 discography calls him then

Fixed a couple of minor errors in the posted update, specifically 'Skyscraper' isn't a re-entry while All Time Low's 'Don't Panic' is one :kink:

I think Justin would be well ahead if he didn't stupidly put the complete collection on sale this week. Haim would be a worthy no1. Will we get any details tomorrow.
More likely pre-teenage girls

Is it safe to assume that an X Factor contestant has tried a Jason Mraz impression?

Not just one contestant but two in a row.

Dance-pop? it just sounds pretty similar to their last few singles doesn't it?

I can't really get excited by any of those number 1 contenders, fantastic to see C&S top 5 though, this would be their joint highest charting single if it stays there right?

It's very clearly more dance influenced than anything they've released before. It's even produced by Madeon. :P

Produced by Madeon? Seriously?? Never knew that. I'd still say it has a similar sound to their last few singles though.

The Vamps' song isn't THAT bad - the only reason I would hate to see it at number 1 is that I know if it happens, the number of people who bought the song will probably be only about a fifth of its sales! I hate it when artists exploit the charts by releasing multiple versions and getting people to buy them all. Plus, I want OneRepublic to get number 1 just for the shock. But the Vamps aren't that far behind on iTunes when you combine all the versions (maybe 60% or so) plus they have EP sales, plus physicals... I'm sure OneRepublic are ahead overall by now, but they might not have enough of a lead to make up the 13k by Sunday :(
