October 4, 201311 yr May as well copy the list of rumoured/confirmed artists from Wikipedia for sakes of discussion: A number of artists are being lined up to perform during the live shows. Cher and Ellie Goulding will perform on the first result show. Series 9 winner James Arthur has confirmed that he will perform and Liam Gallagher said that his band Beady Eye would be performing. Barlow will also be re-launching his solo career by performing. Also reported to be performing are Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Mariah Carey, Susan Boyle, One Direction, Olly Murs, Robbie Williams, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Gloria Estefan, Britney Spears and Union J. Oh Christ at the possibility of Miley Cyrus performing. Isn't this Beyoncé's first time of performing *solo* on X Factor (previously performed 'Listen' with Alexandra Burke)? That will be quite a performance! Actually looking forward to Cher's performance, so long as she isn't wearing some skimpy leotard...shudders. No, she was the star act of the final and had her own performances.
October 4, 201311 yr The live shows are always very female based, so you would have thought the producers would try and get more male based acts. Wonder if Justin Timberlake might get a surprise slot. You'd imagine there would be a lot of the usual crowd and one or two special performances.
October 4, 201311 yr It was a decent performance and an absolutely killer song. What went wrong :( Agreed. I thought Gwen sounded good live and the album, especially 'Looking Hot' and 'Push and Shove', was great. And to think 1D went to number one with 'Little Things', perhaps their cringiest single to date. NO JUSTICE. :( Edited October 4, 201311 yr by liamk97
October 5, 201311 yr Agreed. I thought Gwen sounded good live and the album, especially 'Looking Hot' and 'Push and Shove', was great. And to think 1D went to number one with 'Little Things', perhaps their cringiest single to date. NO JUSTICE. :( The only cringey thing about it is that horrendous line Louis has in verse two... Completely ruins it, coupled with his voice. :(
October 5, 201311 yr One Direction performing Little Things was far more enjoyable than Emeli Sande performing Clown :(
October 5, 201311 yr Wouldn't be suprised if Passenger performs. He has after all been invited by Barlow to perform at the CIN Rocks gigs.
October 5, 201311 yr Count ourselves lucky that Barlow's not in charge of who does and doesn't perform then. Can't imagine what his first choices would be and how terrible for the show they'd be. I wouldn't mind Passenger performing if he did do 'Holes', though. If he performed 'Let Her Go' that would be a suicidal moment.
October 5, 201311 yr As well as X Factor actual appearances, there's always the chance that a super rendition by one of the contestants of a song will push the original back into the chart. Let's hope it's something different and not yet another cover of Read All About It/Clown/A Thousand Years....
October 5, 201311 yr Author These artists benefited the most from X Factor appearances, scoring #1 singles & #1 albums off the back of their performances: Alexandra Burke [bad Boys | Overcome] Cheryl Cole [Fight For This Love | 3 Words] Cheryl Cole [Promise This | Messy Little Raindrops] Girls Aloud [The Promise | Out Of Control] JLS [Everybody In Love | JLS] Leona Lewis [bleeding Love | Spirit] Leona Lewis [Run | Spirit: The Deluxe Edition] Olly Murs [Troublemaker | Right Place Right Time] One Direction [Little Things | Take Me Home] Rihanna [We Found Love | Talk That Talk] Robbie Williams [Candy | Take The Crown] Take That [Greatest Day | The Circus] Undoubtedly the artist that benefited the least from performing on The X Factor was No Doubt: [single: Looking Hot - N/A week charting: #397 on 11/11/12] (Sales: 680) [Album: Push and Shove - 4th week charting: #150 on 11/11/12] (Sales: 966) What about Labrinth?
October 5, 201311 yr Author O I thought you were talking about singles which his shot to no1 from no88, Emeli benefitted more than him :(
October 5, 201311 yr No doubt Emeli Sande will get a spot, even if she has nothing to promote she'll just sings the phonebook.
October 6, 201311 yr I do hope Emeli doesn't perform otherwise there's no chance of something overtaking her in the YTD albums. :( I love her music but she's had her time for now and the overuse of 'Clown' and 'Read All About It (Part III)' is beyond ridiculous now - for me, they were never her best songs anyway. Can't 'Daddy' or 'My Kind of Love' get a boost if they insist on having something Emeli related?
October 6, 201311 yr Can't 'Daddy' or 'My Kind of Love' get a boost if they insist on having something Emeli related? YES! They really need to start using both of those as soundbeds, 'Daddy' in particular - although I wouldn't mind if they used the US version of 'My Kind of Love', although hopefully they use that on XF USA. :kink: I don't doubt that if she releases 'Who Needs the World' when the live shows are on, and if it fits around her schedule (she'll be in America a lot) that she'll get a slot (that is if she even wants one *waits for excuse "OMG SHE'LL DO ANYTHING FOR PROMO!!!!1!"*). It's not as if there are any other better artists that should and could be there in her place, I mean look at some of the drivel already rumoured to be appearing.
October 6, 201311 yr Beady Eye also performed on The Voice UK, so it's not too inexplicable a choice. Where are Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds these days? Surely they're due a second album soon. He's working on it but I'm not sure if it'll be out this year. I'm pretty sure he said he'd never do the X Factor though.
October 6, 201311 yr Olly is meant to be performing again this year but I doubt it will be until the tail end of live shows when his re-package of the Right Place Right Time album is out. It certainly won't be his song with Classified because the week that's out he's on tour in Australia and Japan.
October 6, 201311 yr "Daddy" was an awful song, by far the worst in her discography so far. http://i.imgur.com/wuMYORL.gif 'Daddy' is by far and away the best single from the album, and in my top 3 songs from the album. Such a shame it's flopped, and it's a shame that not many people seem to like it too. :( It's much better performed live, though. She seems to have a more haunting grasp on the song when she does it live (see the Royal Albert Hall), and her voice is just so beautiful live too (as it always is). :kink: 'Daddy' > 'Next to Me' > 'Clown' > 'Heaven' > 'My Kind of Love' I only mark 'Heaven' as low as that because it's the song that I didn't really love, but didn't necessarily hate either, until very late on, and it's only because of her live performances of the song that I've started to love it, the same with 'My Kind of Love', but that's been helped with the US version. If she were to ever go back and change the singles campaign I'd probably have had her do: 01 'Daddy' 02 'My Kind of Love' 03 'Heaven' -- album release -- 04 'Maybe' 05 'Next to Me' So pretty much the same idea as the set-list from her OVOE tour, because that just works so perfectly, and 'Maybe' really should have been a single as opposed to 'Clown', but I guess it couldn't have been, likewise with 'Hope' and 'Lifetime', both of which would have been great choices but how they would have performed would have been very unpredictable.
