That's exactly the message in "Royals" isn't it? I don't care for all of these predictable, meaningless, boring songs that are (for whatever reason) popular but yet don't represent how most of us live our lives.

I agree, although, as much as I like the song, I think some of the lyrics in Royals are inaccurate or mis-lead.

James Arthur increasing another 4% to 88.35%

Surprised James is catching up. I would've thought it'd be the other way around (i.e. the gap getting bigger). I wouldn't mind that song being #1 though.

They are similar, but I do think Lorde differs from Lana in her material - she's definitely seems far more critical and outspoken, I'd say she's more similar to Marina & The Diamonds in that respect, I fear that her ego will only grow from here, but Royals is a great song and would make a wonderful number 1.

James' song is still far too overproduced for my ears, but its good to see a male X Factor winner finally doing well. I've never heard of this Showtek thing, not sure I've even heard it on the radio!

Yeah. They could've spent 2 minutes to up the tempo and put some RedOne-esque synths in the song to make the Buzzjack crowd happy,

Please stop this pointless generalisation of BuzzJack members. If you hate this forum so much or the members, don't post in here ;)

If you do like the forum, what's the sense of posting so offensive?

Shiek Abdul says James Arthur could possibly get to #1 on iTunes the way things are looking.

Your transformation to Abdul is actually really refreshing :D :D :D

(Brummie accent) BUSTIN'.

If James Arthur beats Lorde to #1, I may just give up on the general music buying public.

WOW so dram-a-tic!

James is quite close to #1, so I won't be surprised if he does make it.

I love the production on Royals but the vocals are horrendous. I really just can't stand her voice and the harmony attempts are cringeworthy at best.

Now this:

Is Royals at it's full potential. Tight harmonies and much stronger vocals.

I don't massively like James Arthur's song, bit if that awful 'Royals' song gets to no1 then I may just give up on music. Embarrassing. Luckily he should make it.
I just can't happen to see the appeal on Royals but I seem to be on my own here.

I don't get it too..

This will be like the worst top 2 in UK in along time imo.

It's been played loads on Radio 1.

I'm fairly sure nothing can top "Wrecking Ball" and "Berzerk" this year.

Waiting for complaints when Lawson fall and Passenger returns to the top 10!
Just seen a television advertisement for Lorde-Royals, if this is shown during the X factor then we could an increase in sales and she could even keep the number one spot on iTunes.
I had NO IDEA a song like Royals could be so offensive to so many people
