October 20, 201311 yr Plus there are countries that almost always provide songs that finish high in the scoreboard, so after a while people are more and more interested in those countries' entries (not necessarily cliques), so a smaller country with modest success has to work harder. October 20, 201311 yr I think it's WELL established that there is no bloc voting in BJSC. Apart from possibly Ashton/Rontvia but nothing can ever be done about that even if it is bloc voting. I've NEVER given Ashton anything other than the points I feel their entry deserves. I don't know why I always get accused of this, I've never voted on any other basis than the song alone. There isn't bloc voting but there's obviously the factor that people will give more time and attention to entries by countries that they usually love. Every month there are songs from generally floppy countries that DNQ that I'm astonished do so, and wonder if they could have done better in the hands of a more reputed nation, purely on the basis that more time and energy might be ploughed into the entries.
