October 27, 201312 yr Shame to see that Jewel never managed a big hit here even with Radio 1 support :( I always forget the path to success of Heartbeat/Tragedy, I guess they playlisted the way more popular latter a few weeks later and removed this from the playlist, or perhaps they played both!?! She probably never made it past the C-list anyway. At least it was a top10 in the US, gorgeous song. I remember MTV Europe playing it back then, the video was good. I have no clue with Steps, the next playlist I have is already mid January so it would be too late to see if they played Tragedy. I'm sure they did anyway

I'm sure they did anyway I know Down So Long had big commercial radio support the following year as I heard it all the time but I doubt it was on Radio 1 :( She and Sarah McLachlan never really lived up to the hype in the UK, for reasons unknown to me. At least Sarah had a top three with Delerium and Angel has become a massive catalogue seller. Jewel's barely known here.
