I love Christmas songs about 2 weeks before Christmas, not in November
I love Christmas songs. Always look forward to hearing them fill up the top 40 each year however I would really love some different songs to show up. The Darkness, Cascada's Last Christmas  and Stay Another Day would do for me.
I love Christmas songs, but the most from them are songs that nobody knows or nobody loves.

LOVE Christmas songs and Christmas in general. Even the songs I'm not fussed about, I still manage to enjoy. Anyone who hates them HAS NO HEART. Miserable buggers.

I love all the Christmas classics when they come back to the charts...I just wish we could have a modern Christmas hit get to number one that has nothing to do with X Factor

In fact I think the last time a proper Xmas hit got to number one was Band Aid 20 in 2004 and before that god knows, maybe early 90's...

I'd love to see a campaign to get Mariah or the Pogues to the xmas number one but it won't ever happen

I basically agree with all the bold bit  While it starts getting on my nerves half way through the month when all the music channels are constantly replaying the songs, I love the Christmassy feeling that you get early on in the month when you only start to hear them the first couple of times!

And Happy Xmas (War Is Over)

I don't think I ever get annoyed with constant replay of Christmas songs, but I'd probably choose not to re-listen to one if I had just heard it on another music channel. But the Christmassy feeling is the best, kind of like nostalgia.

Faith Hill's Where Are You, Christmas? and Bananarama's Baby, It's Christmas being the best of the bunch CLEARLY.

That reminds me, it's a tradition for me to watch The Grinch at Christmastime.

I NEVER EVER listen to them before December 1st, its almost as bad as having your calendar on the wrong month for me, I'm just picky like that.

BUT I love them, and never actually get sick of them (guess it helps I don't listen to the radio in December often). I do of course love a great bit of Christmas cheese (Mariah, Slade, Wizzard etc.) but I do find I prefer the more classy/serious songs (Pogues, John Lennon, Band Aid, Greg lake etc.).

I'm willing to give new Christmas songs a chance, and encourage them a lot, but they're just not that good for the most part unfortunately (I do like some though, The Wombats, Darkness, Coldplay (shock horror I know) and Status Quo are quite good)

'Christmas Lights' is obviously the best attempt at a new Christmas song of the last few years. Hope it can re-enter the top 100 for a fourth year although I won't hold my breath.

Don't understand how you can be bored of a song you here for 3 weeks a year ?!

Haha Its Christmas Time actually charted in 2010 I think at no40!!

Doubt it'll be a classic!!

This used to be played a lot around Christmas when I was a kid. They're singing in German but I thought they were singing in Italian or Latin, saying "Felice Vita" or something like that

I love them though I would like to hear more contemporary Christmas songs being recorded - the efforts by The Killers and Coldplay have been OK but aren't anywhere near being classics.

Anyway, I've just bought the new version of the Now Christmas album and as I bought it from amazon I've not only got the CD on its way to me but as it also includes the AutoRip feature it means I've been able to download the MP3 version immediately - which I am currently listening to! 'Last Christmas' by Wham! is currently playing... I do hope the neighbours don't think I've started Christmas early this year!

From checking the track list I can't really see any glaring emissions? I would maybe change the versions of classics they go for eg Tom Jones' version of Baby it's Cold Outside from 1999 and Macy Grays Winter Wonderland!

IMO autorip is a great way of keeping people buying physical albums, though obviously it can't help prop up sales through High Street shops. It's certainly made me choose CD rather than download several times recently.

Its esp good if you wanna collect vinyl ;)

They do autorip for vinyl too?!

The last 10 years have produced very few new decent xmas songs (acts too busy doing deluxe repackages of old albums to bother with one-off singles with a great song) but I think the best effort and future radio fave may be Gabriella Cilmi Warm This Winter, its got the same sort of appeal as minor oldies that become popular in time like Chris Rea, Waitresses. Even decent ones like Caro Emerald's duet of Brook Benton oldie You're All I want for xmas don't get radio play, I had to go to Spain to hear it!

John & Yoko, Greg Lake, maybe Mud, are classics that dont get overplayed, but some others that radio should play for a change include:

December Will Be Magic - Kate Bush

Reggae Xmas - Gable Hall School Choir

Christmas Song - Gilbert O'Sullivan

All Alone On Xmas - Darlene Love

Wombling Merry Xmas - Wombles

Father Xmas Do Not Touch Me - Goodies (dodgy!)

Merry Christmas Darling - Carpenters (thanks Alex)

Happy New Year - Abba

Hey Mr Xmas - Showaddywaddy

Thank God Its Xmas - Queen

Ding Dong - George Harrison

don't laugh, they might sound dodgy choices but they are an improvement on Shaky, Cliff, & a few others!

other suggestions welcome!
