Nice work 1D!! Let's hope they can sneak up to number 2 on the singles - SOML is such a good tune!

Maybe later, its all the sales we have so far...

Same here, its not really that bad, the track has grew on me, probably the album is helping it a lot and his presence on the X Factor, the 16k gap is massive though to overcome, so #2 is likely on Sunday.

Over 100k for the top 2 albums is looking good he's defintely on track for 100k plus, well OneD have smashed it

I wonder if he's close to 100k

really good for 1D and gary. 1D with weekend could get to 220-240 and Gary over 100 both must be pleased. Celine + Little Mix holding up fairly well in the albums. Disappointing for Susan Boyle may not even stay top 15

Susan Boyle's dropped four places since Weds. Is James Arthur still at 18?

Thanks Martin ;)

Fantastic sales for the top 2 albums this week.

Glad to see Gaga rising on the singles chart again. I'm hoping she can sneak back into the top 10 on Sunday. Fingers crossed the album hasn't dropped any lower than 24 since Wednesday. That was bad enough.

Ooft! Back in the top 10 in the mids for Little Mix! :o Amazing. Please keep climbing, or stick top 10. :D

Brillant sales all round in the albums finally reaching that xmas peak, will be interesting to see how they hold up next week without big releases next week!

1D could well do 250k with this saturday being very busy (people just been paid)! Gary will easily sale past 100k too possibly 130k by saturday night.

Even in the singles its possible the top 5 could all break 70k but no4/5 will most likely slow down at 60-65k, not bad! Pity none is break 100k!

Is Gary over 100?

Is Gary over 100?

Read the Friday update, the sales are on there for Gary.

One Direction will easily pass 200,000 which is amazing considering the yearly decline in album sales. But.................Gary Barlow will easily pass 100,000 now which is just excellent news, i am so happy how this album is doing for him, its a very solid album and it is also great to see Let Me Go up to number 2 in the midweeks, i cant see Let Me Go holding up but i think he will end the week as a non mover.

I am also pleased with how well Olly Murs is performing this week, really exciting charts this week.

No. He's not even 50 yet.

 I wish there was a like this post button on here :(

Seems Gary's finally put his appearance on X Factor to good use. Shame Nicole's done bugger all.
So Gary would have beaten Robbie if he had released the week before. Funny that, he doesn't seem like the bigger Take That member!

Well Gary's does have the whole 'first album in 14 years' thing going for it :P Not to mention the fact that he's prominently on UK TV every weekend. I don't think it's a certainty that Gary will beat Robbie's opening sales anyway and if he does it won't be by a huge amount. I think if they both release a new album again next year Robbie's sales will remain as strong as ever while Gary will start to go into decline again like he did the first time he attempted a solo career.

(If you were basing this post on the Friday update saying Gary is on 87k, that's just an upper bound for what his sales were based on 1D being 'more than 100k' ahead, his sales were probably closer to 80k).

Well they will be on a Take That record next year, with the tour in 2015 coinciding with their 25th anniversary

Gary has already said it'll be a few years before he releases another solo record with TT his priority.
