I don't understand how Riptide is doing so well. I got it when it was on a free album on Amazon ages ago, and don't get me wrong, I like it, but it's just not the sort of thing I ever saw anybody buying!

Riptide is record of the week on Fearne Cotton's Radio 1 show (or someone's at least, I know that much), so that would explain the rise :P

I do really hope Riptide's massive now. XFM seem to have only got on board the last couple of weeks but are now playing it pretty much every hour, could do a "Starstrukk" and float around over Christmas.

Also glad Kelly is now at #40 with Underneath The Tree, hope it continues rising, she should have done some promo in the UK for it!

I hope Kelly promotes Underneath the Tree next yr in the uk a bit like George Michael did with December Song a few years back!

 

I hope tomorrow's mids show how close Hey Brother & OMS are to Lily Allen to see how things stand I most certainly think Avicii will be no1 by Sunday if his lead is maintained over Lily and also Leona doesn't take a big lead!

Steve, 'December Song' was only released as a free download initially, so was only promoted the years after due to actually being given a full release! I'd imagine Kelly's track is in a different situation as it's been officially released this year, would be nice if she came over to promote it though. I'd imagine Simon thinks Leona is more reliant on The X Factor etc than Kelly who has had a few large hits in the last few years!

Yea I know I suppose since its a holiday song she could re promote next yr. she did a question and answer on twitter yday which was good. I personally think she will peak in the top 40 next week!

She's been stuck in the US due to having bad morning sickness, so she's been unable to fly over and promote it :( She seems fine, she's still promoting over there (the album is a legitimate SMASH!) but it's not worth risking flying over here. It's a shame really! Just pure bad luck and it's doing so well going on just fanbase/little radio airplay (not sure if the video has started rotating yet).

I would love that, but I think the overtake came too late. Plus Lily has Physicals, and will rise this weekend with the John Lewis advert rotation.

She's increasing again - probably from strong breakfast show airplay. She's currently at 0.8478. Hopefully she can go up to 90% from This Morning.

Beyonce to take over iTunes please. Hope at least a few of the new songs can go near the top 40 seeing as there are no singles set yet.

You can't cherry pick her songs. You have to buy the album as a whole.
