Albums released on Sunday

118. FKA Twigs - LP1

131. One Republic - Native

213. The Gaslight Anthem - Get Hurt

298. The Saturdays - Finest Selection

389. Sinead O'Connor - I'm Not Bossy, I'm The Boss

330. Richard And Adam - At The Movies

Absolute bloodbath of album releases on Sunday. I'm sure The Saturdays will manage to get top 5 with Finest Selection and it's done rather well on iTunes. Hopefully it manages to climb top 150 following their performance on the national lottery tomorrow night.

Anyone else noticed big name albums disappearing randomly from the upper regions of the chart in the last several days?

Yesterday it was Linkin Park-Hybrid Theory (it reappeared today), and today Avicii-True has gone AWOL...

There may be others, but those were the most obvious.

Gaslight Anthem coming for another #2 next week then?

Possibly though I could see the OneRepublic re-release beating it.

1147. Brian Setzer - Rockabilly Riot: All Original

for a relatively stale album chart recently we *should* have a few of the above shaking things up a little

The Saturdays i think will be the highest new entry, should sell a fair bit in terms of physicals; a greatest hits collection from a very recognisable pop group and all~

Gaslight Anthem got to #2 on 18k two years ago, but they haven't had the same radio support as they did then. Not sure if Richard & Adam are even 'relevant' at this point, but albums of that style usually sell a lot, so idk

FKA Twigs' album has done very well on pre-orders! Physical-wise it'll sell barely anything, but still a top 20 debut for her would be very good

prediction:

#2 Sats

#5 Richard & Adam

#6 Gaslight Anthem

#9 OneRepublic

#17 FKA Twigs

Obviously hoping Grant an go Top 40. The last couple of Feeder albums have breezed into the Top 20 on sales sometimes sufficient for Top 10... This has had similar promotion (a couple of spins on Radio 2 too, I think), and I'd assume the majority of those Feeder fans will be behind it.

I'm awaiting the CD and 12", either way. :P

Have Feeder split up?

They're on a break whilst Grant does his solo stuff and Taka does his side-project. :P

Surprised to see The Lovable Rogues so high [its moved into the Top 10 now!] - They seem to have a really loyal fanbase even though Simon Cowell dropped them after their first single! I expect The Saturdays will be Top 5 tomorrow and they would have got great physical sales from the album/tour tickets promotion and the Box Set. Really wouldn't be surprised to see th do a Steps and top the charts if the tour ticket/album promo managed some decent sales!
FKA Twigs for #1 please, the album is just so good
^^I streamed it last week on itunes, it was different to say the least. Might have to download a copy!!

Top 100 update (11/08/2014, 22:00)

Back with the updates again :magic: Apologise for them becoming increasingly sporadic again.

I've seen a lot of optimism about the chart prospects for The Saturdays' GH, I'm not so sure it'll chart that highly - I suppose it could go top 5 like JLS' (which I also expected to do absolutely nothing) but I'd be surprised if it charted higher than The Gaslight Anthem or OneRepublic. That said, the latter isn't doing that well on iTunes so who knows...

New artist album releases this week

New single EP releases this week

Charting on pre-orders alone

Isn't the One Republic album basically a re-release? Can't see it doing well. The Sats will be the highest new entry the Gaslight Anthem both on 15-20k and Ed on 25-30k again as Don't gets more airplay!

It's not 'basically a re-release', it IS a re-release. Plenty of re-releases have gone top 5 though. The new tracks include a top 3 hit, plus the original album hasn't really sold that much, so I'd expect it to do pretty well.
