Top 20 for this next week please

Tinie and Labrinth are always great together (although having said that their other collab on 'Demonstration' is kinda dull, but every other song they've done together is great).

There isn't a Kristin only version of it as far as I can tell though. And it wasn't a mononymous release anyway (she was billed as 'Kristin Chenoweth' even if you do want to not credit Idina).

Thanks, i was taking my information from the chart archive thread from this site for w/e 31/5/08 (which shows it as Kristen with an 'e' anyway!)

So this is Idina Menzel's fourth appearance on a hit single, and the first time she's actually been credited by the OCC?

this is...interesting.

This is very weak by Tinie's standards. :( What happened Tinie?

Didn't we already have this convo in the top 100 thread the other week or was that someone else? :kink: But yes, this is indeed the first time she's actually been acknowledged by the OCC as having a hit single.

Oh no! The lines are shut :( :( :(

Biography

Following the success of JLS and the Wanted, X-Factor contestants One Direction were the next group of heartthrobs to help revive the previously dying concept of the boy band. Niall Horan from Mullingar, Ireland; Zayn Malik from Bradford; Harry Styles from Cheshire; Louis Tomlinson from Doncaster, and Liam Payne from Wolverhampton (the latter had previously reached the judge's house stages of The X-Factor as a 14-year-old back in 2008) originally entered the 2010 seventh series of the talent show as individuals, but following a suggestion from guest judge Nicole Scherzinger, they were grouped together to become One Direction. Mentored by Simon Cowell, they soon became one of the favorites to win the show, thanks to renditions of Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You," Elton John's "Something About the Way You Look Tonight," and Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart." However, despite receiving a standing ovation for their duet with Robbie Williams ("She's the One") in the live final, they eventually finished third behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Spotting the potential of five Justin Bieber-esque teen pinups, Cowell signed them to his Syco label in a £2million deal, and after performing on the X-Factor tour, the quintet began work on their debut album with Savan Kotecha (Britney Spears, Enrique Iglesias). Following a sponsorship deal with Nintendo DS and a book, Forever Young, named after their cover of the Alphaville classic which was intended to be their winner's song, they released their first single, "What Makes You Beautiful," in late 2011. The full-length album, Up All Night, followed soon after. In 2012, One Direction became the first British band to debut on top of the Billboard 200 list when Up All Night sold over 176, 000 copies during its first week of release in America. In late 2012, One Direction released its sophomore album, Take Me Home. Highlighting more of the band's melodic pop, Take Me Home featured songs and production via Sweden's Carl Falk, Rami Yacoub, and Savan Kotecha, who worked on Up All Night, as well as contributions from singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. In August of 2012, the band released the single "Live While We're Young" online. - iTunes

Story of My Life  not shocked to see this falling a bit faster now its left the top 10. Still remains a fantastic song though.

Story Of My Life is brilliant, shame Midnight Memories isn't really doing anything for them (obviously not the album ;) )

This seems strange after so many weeks top 10, down to 26 already.

Well Midnight Memories hasn't actually been given any sort of push other than the X Factor performance. :kink: Was kinda weird at how little a boost that gave it though, but nothing really got any kind of boost from the X Factor final, including Sam Bailey going by her relatively low sales week 1 sales.

Hmm very true, oddly I think Mr Brightside got the best effect out of everything.

Biography

Employing a stylish mix of arty, confessional bedroom pop and club-ready electro-rock that has drawn comparisons to the likes of Grimes, Lana Del Rey, and Sky Ferreira, New Zealand singer/songwriter Ella Yelich-O'Connor, who goes by the stage name Lorde, became an Internet sensation at the age of 16 with the video for her debut single, "Royals," which garnered over 750,000 hits on YouTube. Her 2013 debut EP, The Love Club, hit the number one spot on both the New Zealand and Australian charts. The New Zealander continued her meteoric rise to fame in 2013 with a growing fan base and began sessions for her debut album, Pure Heroine, with producer Joel Little. - iTunes
