At least the entertainment news segment is vaguely relevant to the charts, at least she's not filling time by reading people's texts and tweets, or bringing Celebrity Chart Numbers back

True it could be a LOT worse!

Although they don't need to fill time as they can barely get through 40-11 as it is without shortening or skipping tracks. :(

Biography

Best known for her Tony-nominated performance in the Broadway smash Rent, singer/actress Idina Menzel made her solo debut in 1998 with the pop-soul effort Still I Can't Be Still. She joined the cast for Wicked in 2003 and appeared on the recording that same year, while 2004 saw her releasing the album Here. The following year, Menzel appeared on the soundtrack to the television show Desperate Housewives, and a duet with Ray Charles (which the pair had recorded back in 1998) found its way onto the tribute album Genius & Friends. In 2007, a dance version of Wicked's "Defying Gravity" became Menzel's first club hit. A year later she landed on the major label Warner Bros. and released a new album, I Stand. - iTunes

Took me a bit of time to figure out what this was supposed to be there.

I just realized that Sam Bailey is out of the top 40

So with both "Let It Go" and "Happy" in the top 40, we have 2 song nominated for this year's Oscars being played today. I wonder if "Ordinary Love" by U2 will join them? (Not bloody likely - the rational voice inside my head).

And I really do like this song, although I've always had a soft spot for musicals.

This is an abomination! :puke: :puke2: :puke:

Was Idina Menzel credited (or even on) the charting version of "Defying Gravity"? All I've got is that it's just credited to "Kristin"

I'm not liking this, sounds like a standard musical number to me.

This week's dropouts:

LW/2LW/WI/Performer(s)/Song

23 7 4 Sam Bailey Skyscraper

34 22 28 John Newman Love Me Again

38 33 17 Jason Derulo feat. 2 Chainz Talk Dirty

39 29 14 Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball

40 37 14 James Blunt Bonfire Heart

Biography

A superstar Dutch DJ who helped shape the EDM explosion of 2012-2013, Robbert van de Corput became Hardwell when he began DJing at the age of 13. Watching the massive dance parties broadcast on MTV influenced the teen Hardwell to learn how to mix, and he soon became interested in remixing and working on his own productions. His remixing debut came in 2006 when his version of the Underdog Project's "Summer Jam" hit the clubs, then 2007 found him remixing the stadium techno act Scooter ("Lass Uns Tanzen") and collaborating with fellow DJ Greatski on the track "Never Knew Love." Two years later his bootleg mash-up "Show Me Be" would pit Steve Angello against Laidback Luke for a dancefloor hit, while 2010 saw him drop the first volume of his mix series Revealed. In 2011 he collaborated with Tiësto on the single "Zero 76," which, when combined with remix work for Dada Life ("Fight Club Is Closed [it's Time for Rock'n'Roll]"), Avicii ("Levels"), and Taio Cruz ("Hangover"), added up to his breakout year. In 2012 he would crack the Top Ten of DJ Mag's Top 100 DJ list and top Billboard's dance chart with remixes of Rihanna ("Where Have You Been") and the Wanted ("Chasing the Sun"). His single "Three Triangles (Losing My Religion)" arrived in 2013 along with a fourth volume of Revealed. - iTunes
