December 15, 201410 yr I just don't get this at all, he has come across as nothing but humble to me. That to me just feels like reaching for an excuse to dislike him. Can you name me anything he has said in interviews which would make you feel that way. I mean let's compare him to say Cheryl, who slags off her old band mate, has had spats with other singers, releases a song basically saying FU to people. It just seems utterly irrational for so many people to dislike Ed for such flimsy reasons and other artists get support that to me seem much worse. I watched his A Day With Ed Sheeran documentary or whatever it was on 4 Music and I just thought he was incredibly full of himself. I can't recall what he said as I have erased it from my mind, sorry. :P
December 15, 201410 yr You've used 'Don't' as an example before of his supposed arrogance and smugness yet female artists such as Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea (both of whose music is absolutely full of these traits) are generally celebrated here (and it's the same with bitchy female Big Brother contestents etc) because this arrogance makes them 'fierce queens'! This is way off-topic but something I've noticed about there being a definite female bias on Buzzjack with regard to personalities. 'Don't' is a song about being screwed over - give the guy a break. Nicki and Iggy dont really do it though, do they?! I suppose Black Widow maybe, but that is one of Iggys worst imo anyway. And I never like all bitchy female contestants either (although way off topic, and this has obviously been bothering you for some time). Helen for example is one of my most hated housemates ever! Tbh, it was more the way he went around it with calling Ellie out when as far as I am aware, has not said anything bad about him and then everyone just jumped on his side. If it wasnt for that, I wouldnt really care.
December 15, 201410 yr I never had a problem with don't but from time to time he'll make a remark that'll seem slightly arrogant to me and make me roll my eyes. I don't dislike him as I've said before but there are reasons why members don't like him, it's not like it's unprovoked.

It's just an observation. I recognise people have different preferences and I'm speaking in generalites - not just about yourself, but it is annoying when there's clear double standards with your 'arrogance' argument!
December 15, 201410 yr It's not like the WHOLE FORUM hates Ed Sheeran, he has his fans, they're just not as vocal as some of his detractors, he has some threads in the pop forum which got quite a lot of positive replies. It's not all hate because shock horror he's a male but he is literally EVERYWHERE atm that people are inevitably gonna get a bit tired of it, myself included, same for Sam Smith. I also got sick of Rihanna and Emeli Sande when they were absolutely everywhere. Edited December 15, 201410 yr by FrostytheWallaby
December 15, 201410 yr I don't dislike Ed because he is arrogant, I genuinely do believe he is the shy/bumbling persona he is in stage. I dislike him because his music is terrible, his voice is terrible, he looks and acts like pop music is nothing more than a bit of a time killer for him and he is vastly overexposed. The latter isn't his fault obv, but it still irks me. But I will never tolerate anyone treating such a HUGE thing with the lack if respect he does. I'm not sure how he thought it appropriate to turn up to the biggest gig of his LIFE (the Olympics) and wear a HOODY. It really tipped me over the edge from dislike to hate. I realise this is a very minor and personal thing, but for me its reason enough.
December 15, 201410 yr See to me I find Cheryl miming on the X factor more of a 2 fingers to pop and music or Rihanna not giving a f*** half the time more terrible than Ed wearing a hoodie. To me not singing live on a show like X factor or not trying half the time as Rihanna does is more disrespectful to the audience or fans. It is all so irrational the dislike of Ed, now we have he wore a hoodie! Edited December 15, 201410 yr by sammy01

It's really disrespectful for him to be doing that though, not everyone has the oppurtunity and doing that makes him seem like he doesn't care. I don't really know what you're trying to say by pointing this out anyways. You can't change people's opinion whether it's 'irrational' (is isn't) or not, I don't see why it's that big of a deal. Edited December 15, 201410 yr by NellyXmas. S
December 15, 201410 yr Can't we just agree that all modern popstars-male or female-just aren't as classy as they were a decade ago?
December 15, 201410 yr I don't really know what you're trying to say by pointing this out anyways. possibly that not wearing the appropriate attire for what some artists may only consider a chance to promote their music / give themselves a little boost is an offence of much smaller scale than miming because you don't exactly have faith you can execute what you're doing on a stage. which i agree with.

Oh alright I see, I still don't see why it's a big deal that some members don't like Ed Sheeran :P
December 15, 201410 yr Rihanna not giving a f***?! She always puts in a lot for her performances! I like Rihanna, catchy songs and I happen to find her lack of caring refreshing sometimes but have you not watched some of her performances where she sings about 1/3 of the song and lets the backing track do the rest, or not bothering to film videos for singles etc. I mean what is this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MI1buxFDmyg
December 15, 201410 yr She is a different performer to Ed Sheeran though, she is a performer and dances etc. as well. She at least always sings live and puts on a big performance, her performances of Stay were mostly stunning.

Oh her performances of Stay and Diamonds only prove the above video is half arsed prancing about on stage while the dancers and backing track do all the work. Not because she cant but because she is phoning in a performance with as little effort as possible. That to me is far more disrespectful than any persons choice of outfit.
December 16, 201410 yr "about 63% of the votes were cast after Andrea’s departure. Interestingly, the Ben:Fleur split was 57:43 before Andrea left, and 64:36 after." There you see the reason Andrea was taken into the final.

December 16, 201410 yr Eh, I think the voting went more in Ben's favour due to the winner's single suiting him better and less so because Andrea went out. Fleur had her Uptown Funk performance on the Sunday which was supposed to be her big moment.
December 16, 201410 yr I honestly don't think the people IN THE KNOW could have been foolish enough to think, no matter what they did, Fleur could win. Uptown Funk didn't tip her over the edge, so why would it in the final when the winner single was so CLEARLY Ben suited, plus he had a much bigger duet name too. I think it was quite obvious they were pushing for a Ben win, at least in the final.
