Yeah the effect on vocals does sound very Imogen Heap - esque but i've got to say i bl**dy love it!!

 

Can't wait for the new album and what an exciting teaser they have released to gather interest!! :D

I'm really liking this. It's interesting, and the production is quite a way off what they usually come out with. They're at that stage now where they have the stadium anthems, and they can release anything and still have a #1 album and sell out stadiums. Taking a more experimental approach is always a good thing, shows they're not bound to the stereotypes they've been classed under.

 

I wasn't massively keen on their last album. Some good tracks, but some of them just felt a bit forced and unnatural e.g. Princess of China. These types of bands don't really need featured artists to vocal. Some people will love it, others will hate it. Fact is people will still buy it.

 

'Magic' has already grown on me a lot. So hyped for this album.

"Magic" is pretty great, didn't think much of it on first listen, but it has grown a lot and I'm looking forward to the album now!

This Giorgio Moroder remix of 'Midnight' has been released as a single on iTunes, along with the original version being made available as an instant grat.

 

 

Pretty good remix. Not a patch on the original though.

I'm really liking the mix of this, especially the bits after Chris Martin has finished.

I take it back, it FADES OUT. :(

It should do. I hope they don't do what Eminem did last year with 'Berzerk' and change 'Magic' to an instant grat so they can have ASFOS chart. I'll be very annoyed if they do that!

Works very well though, and of course it's going to be absolutely massive.

Hmmm, I dunno, I was enjoying the subtle sound of the last two singles, and this...well, it will obviously do well, but it's just tailored to become a hit and just isn't all that interesting :(

'A Sky Full of Stars' is definitely my favourite song that I've listened to from the album so far! Reminds me of 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' a little bit which is one of my favourite Coldplay songs! :wub:

I really like it but I can't see how it is going to mesh with the likes of 'Midnight' to make a cohesive album.

Obviously we haven't heard the album yet, but if it's the only pop/upbeat song on the album, then I don't think it's right to go with this era. It should have been released as Avicii feat Coldplay or Avicii feat Chris Martin. It's an alright song on first listen but I can't see it being amongst their best even with repeated listens...

A Sky Full of Stars sounds immense on first listen. Hope it can be a possible no.1 at some stage ala Paradise.

Great songs. Wasn't keen on Mylo Xyloto at all.
