Is there any case for singles revenue to be the main chart again like it used to be , rather than sales?

It was never that.

I bet she is fuming

Knowing Kylie and her volatile temperment, I'd say she's absolutley LIVID. I can imagine her going berserk when the Friday mids came in this morning, upturning tables left right and centre and throwing anything she could manage to lift at her poor, long-suffering assistant...

In all seriousness though, it was somewhat unlikely that she would have held the top 10 prior to the deletion anyway. Had she got it, it would have been great for the (chart-following) fans but not particularly significant in the grand scheme of things. The success of album is infinitely more important for her campaign and anyway, a top 15 single is a respectable achievement in itself and shouldn't be considered a flop (even for her). She's got the Voice performance and no doubt other big promotion so there should hopefully be good public awareness of the campaign down the line.

Enrique still top 3 :( I wish he and Christina Perri could swap places, 'Human' is a much better song imo.

Great to see The Chainsmokers top 20 :D

As big a fan of Kylie as I am, I think we should just accept that she's past her chart peak - it's unlikely she'll score a Top 10 single again unless it's special circumstances, and let's face it, the album isn't exactly gonna set the charts alight either. But even a Top 20 single and (hopefully) Top 10 album at this stage of her career is fine tbh.

I think that is the case, I was just saying in the Kylie forum earlier that I'm starting to think she's became a fanbase act since the X era and 'All The Lovers' was just a fluke. Mind you, many of the same popstars of her ilk are in the same position so it's just the nature of the industry really.

Us Kylie fans are a passionate bunch, and as this is the first time she's properly released anything in 4 years you can expect feelings to be running high.

I usually love a bit of Kylie M but this lead single is very weak and generic sounding. If she released stuff like "All The Lovers" or "2 Hearts" I would be fully ON BOARD and I expect the public would as well. You can't expect to have a hit with anything these days, the power of the fanbase buy has been much reduced.

The last single I loved by Kylie was "The One".

I don't think there's any chance at all of her album missing the top 10, it's a certainty for top 3 and still a very likely #1 I think.

Even she has tried to forget '2 Hearts' ever happened. :P

You mean a Top 5 hit single, she's had.. what 2(?) others in the past decade. Well I liked it anyway.

Yeah, she admitted in an interview a few months afterwards that she never wanted to release it and she felt the record label forced her. When I saw her on tour for Aphoridte, she performed all the other X singles and left that one off.

^I don't like Kylie, but "2 Hearts" and "Timebomb" are probably the only recent singles I can listen to without switching off. So it's a shame to hear Kylie hates "2 Hearts"!
2 Hearts was definatley a grower, hated it at first although I love it now :cheer: I loved The One, but it wouldn't have fared well without radio support. I think the label were wise to force the song as the lead single as it instantly connected with radio.

'The One' is by far her best single - still at a loss as to how it flopped so badly.

It was the 4th single from the album, and also they cancelled the physical at the last minute which at that point in mid 2008 was going to be the only thing that would get her a reasonable position.

I wish she returned to her "indie-era" (such as Confide in Me) because Lorde and Lana Del Rey are big now.. She could do much better with a song like 'Team' or 'Video Games'.

This dance pop offering is just catering the fanbase. (Which will provide her another #1 album anyway)
