Commentary

 

On its sixth week inside the top three Molly finally climbs to the top of the pile with Children Of The Universe, the UK's entry to Eurovision 2014! Sanna Nielsen's Undo dips a place to No.2 after five weeks on top and Duke Dumont stays at No.3 for a second week with I Got U. Sigma's huge drum & bass hit Nobody To Love jumps to a new peak of No.4 and Dutch act Mr Probz climbs to a new peak of No.5 with his smooth international hit Waves! The Eurovision Song Contest 2014 compilation album follows all of its predecessors since 2001 to the top of the album chart, leaping up from No.12 last week! Shakira's Shakira. drops a place to No.2 after two weeks in control, Kylie Minogue falls a spot to No.3 with Kiss Me Once and the battle of the compilation albums is won by Now 87 which enters at No.4, just ahead of Top Hits at No.5, the first new edition of the Hits series for eight years!

Thanks Jonjo! The meeting Molly effect on Saturday pushed it to #1, although it was on its way already. And then seeing her perform it live on Sunday has made it all even better *.* I thougt you'd really like Sing as it's so Justin-esque :o Rita's song probably won't be HUGE for me but it's comfortably her second best song to date. Geronimo is really catchy and chirpy, #1 in Australia despite being an independent release, which sort of suggest that it could be huge here in the future!

Thanks Martin, hopefully Molly will get a top ten finish on the night. Sing is very different for Ed Sheeran but quite a nice change, glad he didn't just come back with a ballad. I've always quite liked Rita, but don't either love or hate her like most of Buzzjack seem to.

Oops! Although at least Sweet California only came 8th and didn't win the contest! Ahh well thank you for the kind words, I like to switch it up, maybe a little too drastically sometimes but it does amuse me that most countries rely on points from the same people each month and I have to start from scratch to attract a whole new fanbase every time :lol: My next entry should be a little more credible than This Is The Life, but then what isn't!?!

 

I agree with you, I just hope that she gets the continued Radio 1 support. I worry that they're only supporting Stay High because it's pretty much a dance song. Will they support Tove the pop star, I don't know.

Molly is a contender for my number 1 too. Sounds like you were at the Eurovision do the weekend, my mate Hass was there interviewing for the UK fanclub magazine so maybe you bumped into him and didnt realise it! I keep threatening to go but never get the time to do it. I always buy the Eurovision cd after the show, so I'm not biased beforehand before seeing performances, but Molly is a real actual UK winner to me, hope she does well!
