I'm really loving Ella's track  she was always my favourite X Factor contestant of 2012.
I agree, it just seems to me that people who point out her low finish on the show don't realise that she was always a lot more popular than that indicated is all :P I always thought that she'd end up being a big star unless they totally bollocked up her material which it seems they haven't.

Yeah, she was definitely a lot more popular than 6th would indicate. 'Was' being the operative word :P. I disagree about her always being destined to do well unless the material was crap though - I think, particularly considering the length of time she's been away from the public eye, her career was/is very much dependent on the first single being a proper smash (critically and also commercially) which simultaneously manages to clearly set her apart as an artist. Basically, I think the current buzz and popularity of 'Ghost' is a lot more so down to its own merits, rather than it being the debut single of a 2012 X Factor favourite who has a large Twitter following etc.

Well Lena currently is not in the #400 region or climbing so there was no need to include her in this update. There are links on the first page if you wish to find out where she is at the moment.

sorry everyone but we need to issue an S O S.

has anyone, anywhere seen ryan's sense of humour? if you have could you please let anybody else in this thread know.

I repeat S O S.

Chico came like 5th or 6th in X Factor and he managed some chart hits, so you never know.

I know, I don't really get your point . I wasn't saying a sixth-placer couldn't achieve chart success - re: Ella, I think the fact that she's been gone for 18 months is a major factor and it's a compliment to her that the material is selling itself rather than mainly off her name :P.

Also, woooo :mansoncheer:

realistically how many pre-orders does it take in a day to get to #102?

she has a stable and very loyal fanbase who have followed her throughout the recording process and syco have done a good job of drip-feeding information so i'd guess for the moment pre-orders are going to be on the basis of the fans and it'll dive down in the next few days before resurging as proper radioplay kicks off.

37. Justin Timberlake- Not a Bad Thing

39. Lana Del Rey- Gods & Monsters

Lana has to thank EastEnders and the BBC for this becoming another UK Top75 hit for her. Could this go Top40 officially?

43. Royal Blood- Come On Over

97. Prince- THE BREAKDOWN

Well personally I find seeing 'funny' comments about Lena updates all over the forum even more boring than how boring you all find Lena updates that I post in this thread.

That's probably true but I was also referring to the overwhelmingly positive online reaction of non-fans. I wasn't interested in her in the slightest until I heard the remix of the single and there seemed to be many others in the same boat.

Laugh. at. yourself.

I wouldn't say your posts are boring, more fascinating.

Wow just noticed the impact Jools had on Royal Blood - fantastic Little Monsters could re-peak and the new single could go top 50?! Great band!

I'm kinda surprised that Stardust isn't actually doing better, on a serious note. I seem to see that advert on all the time, it's on between nearly every ITV show. I know the artist isn't recognisable to most, but I'm still surprised it's not doing better than it is.

It's the iTunes thread. Of course people are going to post about the positions of their favourite songs. Having a sense of humour isn't compulsory to post here.

If you want to make jokes, gang up on people to make yourself feel good and type everything in capital letters, I think the place you're looking for is "The Lounge".

That's what I thought, I remember What Now had quite a boost (or at least stuck around for a while, I'm not sure whether it was top 40 or anything before its advert started to be in rotation) and I'd say I've seen the Stardust advert a lot more! Great song though so even a tiny boost is good for me.

While the first sentence is all correct (even though I wish it weren't, jokes are never bad), the Lounge hasn't been like that for at least two years (we want no forum divides any more okay?). The new era of mods wouldn't stand for any sort of bullying mentality, and I certainly wouldn't.
