June seems to be making a big comeback to the music from about 5 years ago after most of the crap of the first 5 months this year

 

In June there is Sing, Ghost, MMM Yeah and a few more. Also Problem in July

 

Completely disagree.

 

I think June is looking to be the weakest month for releases we've had this year so far.

None of them releases excite me and they're all terribly average (or in 'Problem's case awful), compared to what we've been having.

Oh dear Sam's advert has not exactly helped him very much. I was expecting to see him back at number 1 this morning. Should sell decently for a #2 track in the charts all the same.

 

I hope Coldplay don't just sit at 10 all day. They better climb up :( too good a song.

It is not that close really, I mean Sam is gaining about 1.6K/day but at that rate he will still fall around 8K short on Sunday - and that is against what is likely to be one of the lowest selling debut weeks at #1 of 2014.

Ewww another generic dance song going to number 1 vom vom vom.....I don't get it!! All these songs will just be forgotten so so quickly. What a terrible year so far for music. Only 'Rather Be' will be remember so far I think and maybe 'Timber' as a cheesy party song. 'Happy' is a 2013 song anyway.

Based on pre-orders alone, I see that a good period for the UK chart is slowly finishing as a lot of dross is just waiting to invade the chart...

I Got U, Waves and My Love will almost certainly be remembered, on dance compilations at the very least. Almost all of those songs live on. They're also #1s that are incredibly popular, which people don't "forget".

 

You know, I bet people were saying this about the 1994-1995 dance explosion in the charts. These songs really are no different from Let Me Be Your Fantasy, Set You Free, Dreamer, I Luv U Baby, U Sure Do, Push The Feeling On etc.

Yay Coldplay! (Knocking Ellie out of the top 10 but I'm sure she's done enough to be top 10 this week anyway).

Yeah but on Friday's mids there was an 11k gap between Sam and Secondcity so It seems utterly impossible for Sam to make that up in a day or two. He would've needed a healthy/ decent lead over Secondcity on itunes (with his highest version) to even make that possible.

That's good, it doesn't need to be held back so long. Bringing it earlier would clash with other potential hits (Ghost and Gecko), so that's probably the best date. It should easily beat Sia to #1 - Problem already went very high on pre-orders in its first few days available. Should debut straight at #1.
