My Favourite Mistake is Sheryl Crow's best single, shame on y'all! It's from her best album too for that matter.

08. Fatboy Slim - Gangster Tripping (7.15) (More 10s)

Old school Fatboy Slim was the best, this really doesn't sound like that much of a hit at all, rather ahead of it's time.

07. Robbie Williams - No Regrets (7.73)

10 (gooddelta, Rob S, gavindeejay, Dandy*)

4 (Niall Minogue)

Despite being relegated to bottom of the second disc, this comfortably outperforms his bigger hit at the time. A real sensitive moment from him and one that's really aged excellently as well.

Bono's heartfelt apology to his wife just misses the top 10, definitely one that went outside their normal sound to a far more universal one. What is undeniably Boyzone's signature song is also here, one that really showcases Stephen's great vocals as well as Ronan's despite being slightly tacky, I'll bet Westlife are forever cursing they didn't get it first. One of Steps' better moments and recent Big Reunion 90s girl group, The Honeyz are also here.

That Ace of Base song really surprised me, quite wonderful. So wonderfully positive <3

This section is sensational. Even the U2 song is great. Shame on low markers of Life Is A Flower, one of the most breezy and uplifiting, positive pop songs ever written. It's my go to song when I'm feeling down as it's always guaranteed to cheer me up

No Regrets

Robbie really could be great when he put his mind to it, this one helped in no small way by Neil Tennant and Neil Hannon.

06. The Corrs - Dreams (Tees Radio Mix) (7.94)

05. Aqua - Turn Back Time (8.07)

I can't really say much about either of these except how lovely and nice they both are. Kinda surprising considering the style of Aqua's other songs (or song, depending on how much you know about them).

No Regrets, Dreams and Turn Back Time are so good too, this year was SO amazing!!! Aqua were completely not the sort of act to get three No.1's, Doctor Jones was obviously riding off the success of Barbie Girl but I doubt another similar song would have got to No.1 for them for a third time. Which is why Turn Back Time was such a wonderful surprise. A traditional ballad with the exception of that brilliantly jarring middle eight!

Kinda surprised how well this did, though I suppose it's definitely very...unique, let's just say the lyrical content isn't quite what you'd expect.

And absolutely running away with the victory deservedly is this complete dance classic...oh wait, you low voters are SOULLESS :( Alas, it's only 3rd in the end, but srsly, what a song. The vocals may not be the strongest, but when it has that bassline, how can you ask for more?

The actual winner actually did absolutely run away with this.

The Stardust song has grown on me a lot over the years, I really didn't like it at the time but it was really ahead of its time and the video is very charming.

Perfect 10 is just that, genius. Jacuqi looks much better with longer hair these days imo.

I'm probably just bitter about Stardust, but I don't see how this is that good? It's just pleasant for me, and I could describe a lot of songs on the album as that that were way better. Eh, moving on.

01. The Cardigans - My Favourite Game (9.23)

Despite not getting any 11s, it's clear from the scores that this is pretty conclusive as a winner we can all get behind (even Alex! :o). Lovefool may be seen as The Cardigans 'signature' song at least in the UK, but for my money, this is a lot more edgy, attitude-filled and at the same time accessible and catchy as a pop hit. A worthy winner indeed and quite the classic too.

I'll post a final list later, I'm quite hungry atm. Thanks all for reading! ^_^

Woo, The Cardigans were at their absolute BEST during the Gran Turismo era, what an album and WHAT a lead single, with one of my favourites videos ever (directors cut, not the censored version). Crush is a near perfect pop song too, should have been a top 3 hit, she was the Carly Rae of her day.
Worthy winner, but the Corrs and Aqua should have been the top 2.

Ahh a surprise win for The Cardigans there. That track reminds me of the old Ford Fiesta advert it was used in at the time. :)

Thanks as always for a great countdown as always Chez. I'll be gutted when you stop doing them.

What a great winner! It's really distinctive and I remember being baffled at the time as to how it didn't make the top 10.

Actually, they had a really great run of singles from My Favourite Game through to Don't Blame Your Daughter, I may have to dig out their best of for the journey to work tomorrow.

Never heard the winner, oops

I'm sure you'll recognise it, the music's been used quite a lot in adverts and it's quite distinctive.

40. Lighthouse Family - Question of Faith (4.38)

41. Phil Collins - True Colours (4.02)

42. R Kelly feat. Keith Murray - Home Alone (3.40)

I probably enjoyed these results the most as there wasn't an obvious winner at least prior to the voting as there's no big Buzzjack faves here, or I suppose there are, but with massively sub par songs that deservedly finished low.

My Favourite Mistake is Sheryl Crow's best single, shame on y'all! It's from her best album too for that matter.
Yes, yes, yes! It's outstanding, what a masterpiece.

Stardust should've won as it's an all-time classic, but My Favourite Game is a good song so I can't complain too much. Good to see Fatboy Slim top 10 as well, he made a few great songs and Gangster Trippin' was one of them
