Biography

Kasabian (/kəˈseɪbiən/ kə-SAY-bee-ən) are an English rock band formed in Leicester in 1997. The band's original members consisted of vocalist Tom Meighan, guitarist and backing vocalist Sergio Pizzorno, guitarist Christopher Karloff, and bassist Chris Edwards. The band's line-up was completed by drummer Ian Matthews in 2004 after a string of session drummers. Jay Mehler joined as touring lead guitarist in 2006. Mehler left the band for Liam Gallagher's Beady Eye in 2013.

Kasabian have released four studio albums – Kasabian (2004), Empire (2006), West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum (2009), and Velociraptor! (2011). The band's fifth studio album, 48:13, is set to be released on 9 June 2014, with single "eez-eh" released in April in Europe and then in their native UK on 1 June 2014. The band's music has been described as a mix between The Stone Roses and Primal Scream with the swagger of Oasis. Their music has won them several awards and recognition in the media, including a Brit Award in 2010 for Best British Group, and their live performances are generally lauded. - Wikipedia

'eez-eh' is such a jam, the production is just fantastic. Absolutely loving today's chart so far!

eez-eh is really very good, shame it never reached the top 20

Fun fact for anyone who wasn't aware (I certainly wasn't until the other day): the female vocalist on both 'I Wanna Feel' and 'I Got U' is the same person (someone called Kelli-Leigh), so she's sneaked in 2 #1 singles with barely anyone noticing this year. And both were as an impersonator (Whitney Houston for 'I Got U' and Toni Braxton for 'I Wanna Feel').

4 weeks top 40 for 'eez-eh', done so much better than I'd have predicted!

EEZ EH

Such an amazing song, cannot wait to stream their set at glastonbury

Loving this

Kasabian getting a month in the Top 40 in this day and age is fantastic for them. :D

eez-eh still in :o

Four weeks top 40 for Kasabian  Possibly one more because of Glastonbury tonight?

I do love a bit of Glam Rock!

"forthcoming album X" #fail

yay for eez-eh :cheer:

This might be the best song Ed Sheeran's done so nice

Biography

Edward Christopher "Ed" Sheeran (born 17 February 1991) is an English singer-songwriter. Raised in Framlingham, Suffolk, he moved to London in 2008 to pursue a musical career. In early 2011, Sheeran released an independent extended play, No. 5 Collaborations Project, which caught the attention of both Elton John and Jamie Foxx. He then signed to Asylum Records. His 2011 debut album, +, containing the singles "The A Team" and "Lego House", was certified quintuple platinum in the United Kingdom. In 2012, he won two BRIT Awards for Best British Male and British Breakthrough. "The A Team" won the Ivor Novello Award for Best Song Musically and Lyrically.

Sheeran began to be known in the United States in 2012. He made a guest appearance on Taylor Swift's fourth studio album, Red, and wrote songs for One Direction. "The A Team" was nominated for Song of the Year at the 2013 Grammy Awards and he performed the song in duet with Elton John during the ceremony. He spent much of 2013 touring North America as the opening act for Taylor Swift's Red Tour. His second studio album is titled x, read as "multiply", and is scheduled for worldwide release on 23 June 2014. He was nominated for Best New Artist at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. - Wikipedia

I'm not too keen on 'One', it's alright but not something I'd go back to a lot. I still want to get his album nevertheless, was going to do so yesterday but ended up getting the Klaxons' instead. :P

'One' is my favourite track from the album, it is stunning (by Ed Sheeran standards)

One is gorgeous, X is also pretty good. The main highlights for me would be Photograph, One, Don't, Thinking Out Loud and Nina.

'One' has grown on me a lot. Glad it's managed another week top 40.

I never stream music. Feel like such a dinosaur!

I know I will in the future but for the moment the only time I'd be likely to stream music is on my phone and I'm rarely near a wifi connection and have limited data.

I rarely get a chance to use my home laptop anymore and I don't think installing Spotify at work would go down too well!

So streaming is more or less inaccessible to me at the moment until I get a phone with unlimited data, but I like the idea of it.
