Looks like Cheryl's definitely going to #1 this week then, she's doing far better than I expected :o I really thought she'd have a small opening lead then have MAGIC! quickly gain on her but that's not happening. Well done to her I guess, her continued relevancy 10+ years into her career is great.

Usually her single releases are towards Aug/Sept with the X Factor boost, I still think her sales will be marginally lower from her previous single releases though, but she will definitely open into 6 figures for the week. We see when the mids come in tomorrow. Oh boy not looking forward to the mids this week  :(

Why? It's one of the busiest weeks we've had in ages with lots of new entries! Doesn't it make the midweeks exciting? :)

With Nicole supposedly being at #3 on sales alone, but ending up at #6 officially and Ella Eyre supposed to be at #11 but ending up at #16, I really don't know if Cheryl will be number 1... streaming will be super crucial this week! I am still expecting MAGIC! to take it by the end of the week for some reason!

I'm frightened in saying it CoLoons  I probably get a ducking now -_-

On the single releases, its exciting with 2 tracks potentially banging it out for the #1 position

Ariana topped the streaming chart last week with 1.17 million plays, that's roughly 12k added to her total. MAGIC! were #13 on streaming so even if they jump to #1 this week, they wouldn't do better than 12k on streaming.

Rixton did around 2k on streaming last week (#69), I guess Cheryl will be able to top that at least with around 3k considering they're both using similar strategy (available to stream the same week it's released).

So basically that 9k gap isn't something impossible to overtake. Especially since Cheryl had the advantage on pre-orders (around 5k) and will sell a few remixes (1 or 2k maybe?). If she can keep a decent lead on iTunes it should be ok.

If Cher could swap with Cheryl please, that'd be grand. Sirens is so much better than CSL it's not even funny.

New high for MAGIC! since its release !

Sometimes I love you, sometimes I don't.

Today I ADORE you

0.6553 (1st post-release udpate)

Someone in the previous thread estimated that Cheryl sold about 15,000 iTunes pre-orders and that MAGIC! sold about 10,000, which would mean that MAGIC! would debut with about two-thirds (0.6667) of Cheryl's pop bar, so turns out his predictions were quite accurate!

The more surprising thing to me is that Rude hasn't really closed the gap very much yet. I expected it to gain faster tbh, because its pre-order was selling more before the songs were released.

I didn't even think about that, but yes indeed! I'm surprised I was so close actually, but I'm glad I was. :D

Umm, whut?

The difference between #3 and #6 / #11 and #16 is nowhere near the distance between #1 and #2 when the #1 has as big a lead as Cheryl currently has (unless sales are extremely low which they won't be). She will be safe unless she starts dropping off ridiculously fast, and possibly still even then.

Baring in mind The Script is Track of the Day on radio 1 as well!
