July 20, 201412 yr Author The only important chart news of the week: "Weird Al" Yankovic FINALLY gets a charted album in the UK, entering at #71 *.* Just as well as it's supposedly his final album release.
July 20, 201412 yr Wow at Rude being #50 without sales! :o Makes me think it probably won't be long until a song actually goes top 40 without sales. Maybe Am I Wrong will manage it?
July 20, 201412 yr How is this compiled? What's the split? A bit odd a song at #1 in Sales and #69 in streaming. I spy a rig....
July 20, 201412 yr Such a shame for Nicole actually getting another top 3 single just based on sales. I wasn't totally opposed to streaming when suggested but even in these first few weeks it has only been knocking down new fresh songs from getting good peaks. Also robbing Ella of a top 15 single, so annoying. Edited July 20, 201412 yr by Davidson
July 20, 201412 yr How is this compiled? What's the split? A bit odd a song at #1 in Sales and #69 in streaming. I spy a rig....100 streams = 1 sale. It's much more weighted toward sales, so a song like Rixton's can reach #1 without much streaming whatsoever.
July 20, 201412 yr Author Only two differences in the top 40 songs due to streaming this week. Raleigh Ritchie is #36 on sales and DJ Fresh is #38. They are replaced in the overall top 40 by Vance Joy (sales #43) and 'Money On My Mind' (sales #51), the latter of which has now been top 40 due to streaming all 3 weeks it's been included so far.
July 20, 201412 yr 100 streams = 1 sale. It's much more weighted toward sales, so a song like Rixton's can reach #1 without much streaming whatsoever. Thanks - I thought it was like a 70/30 or 60/40 split!
July 20, 201412 yr I don't understand where Avicii 'Wake Me Up' is on the official chart? It's top 75 on both the streaming and sales chart?
July 20, 201412 yr How on earth did Ella Eyre manage to fall from 10 on Friday's update to 16 on Sunday? The midweeks do include streaming don't they? Spotted loads of songs all falling just 1 place this week - in fact a total of 12 songs in the Top 40 are down 1 place from last week. Is this an early sign of how stale the charts are going to become due to streaming I wonder?
July 20, 201412 yr Singles sales and streaming charts now up :cheer: Any Nicole Scherzinger fans will be happy to know she went to #3 on singles sales. Ella Eyre debuted at #11, 5 places higher than its official peak. Kove, however, is hit the hardest top-40-wise as it enters at #22 on singles sales, 8 places higher than its official position. The #1 on singles sales and officially is once again the same. Lily Allen enters at #60 on singles sales; 33 places higher than its official position. In the streaming chart Ariana climbs to #1 and there are big climbs from MAGIC!, will.i.am and Jess Glynne.
July 20, 201412 yr Ouch for Lily Allen :o Yes, poor ol Lily now has a flop instead of a chart hit, due to the amazing dullness of people streaming. The sales chart is much more exciting than the minor shuffling of the incredibly tedious combined chart now, such as the great Woodkid getting into the Top 75 sales following the world cup coverage. Enthusiastic music fans still buy and I will continue to regard the sales chart as the real chart for music fans.
July 20, 201412 yr How on earth did Ella Eyre manage to fall from 10 on Friday's update to 16 on Sunday? The midweeks do include streaming don't they? I did see some claim that there was some streaming data missing from the mids, dunno if anyone can confirm or deny that though.
July 20, 201412 yr Author I don't understand where Avicii 'Wake Me Up' is on the official chart? It's top 75 on both the streaming and sales chart? Sorry, the source that the chart is copy and pasted from at the start of the week always lists 'Wake Me Up' as 'Aloe Blacc - The Man' for some unknown reason.
July 20, 201412 yr NICOLE HAS BEEN ROBBED OF A TOP 3 FINISH WITH THE STUNNING YOUR LOVE AND ELLA WOULD HAVE NEARLY BEEN TOP 10 ON JUST SALES I WASN'T THAT OPPOSED TO THE ORIGINAL IDEA OF STREAMING WHEN IT WAS FIRST ANNOUNCED BUT NOW I ALREADY BLOODY HATE IT
