I was looking at the July predicta thread and saw there was a lot of mixed predictions for this with some saying it will go top 15/20 (lol) or will miss the top 40 overall. Wanted to see what the general prediction was for the song in a poll.

Pros:

-Lots of exposure from Bastite ad

-A lot of planned promo (some pre-filmed)

-59p may entice people to buy it

-Pixie herself has loyal fans who will try to do anything to get this to the top 40 at least

-It is at the same position on single pre-orders as Nasty was at this point (#1045, this is at #1081) which debuted at #9

Cons:

-Barely any airplay what-so-ever

-Getting snubbed by radio one was one thing, she now has no Capital support for the song.

-Abysmal pre-orders

-Album being released the week after may hinder it's success.

-Even though it is having the same success as Nasty was doing in pre-orders,, Nasty jumped to #460 the day after and that won't be the case this time.

Honestly I can't see Pixie going top 20 (but I'd love to be surprised). I, however think her album will go top 10/top 5 the following week after due to low competition and sales but will drop like a rock. Such a disappointing next few weeks for pixie fans :(

Flops to both. No surprise this reductive singer released a self-titled album to jump on the nearest passin bandwagon.
I'll be very surprised if the single goes top 40 and the album goes top 10.

Single -> scraping top 40 on sales, but missing it officially due to streaming

Album -> top 20 followed by big 2nd week drop and very poor total sales

Nasty really did mess up her 'comeback'. She needed something better to re-establish herself after the 2nd album flop.

Lay Me Down will chart around #20-25 somewhere (definitely won't miss the top 40 entirely like some have suggested, I doubt her fanbase has been evaporated THAT much)

her album will make the top 5 due to low sales, followed by a quick drop

She could push for top 40 if she keeps rising the next couple of days (ala "Sirens" last week) on itunes but that might seem highly doubtful so I'll say top 50 for Lay Me Down and top 20 for the album.

I think #42 or so for the single and even in a low sales climate about #12 for the album.

The album is out a week after the single.

I'm predicting that 'Lay Me Down' will peak at around #19 especially if it's included in in the 59p batch next week and promotion is strong. I'm guessing the album will peak at around #06.

I'm struggling to see more than a couple of thousand people buying the album, she doesn't have much of a core fanbase and I'm seeing the album charting very similarly to 'Music To Make Boys Cry', although I have a feeling this one will actually miss the top 40. Likewise I think due to streaming, the single will also miss the top 40 due to her reliance on casual buyers that will only buy if they hear it and with the non-existant airplay, they won't be listening to it and therefore won't be buying it.

She looks like she has a lot of promo in the pipeline next week so I think LMD could go #20 if all goes well. At the very least it will go #42

This era screams 'Heartbreak On Hold' so much it's not even funny.

'Nasty' = 'Elephant' = flash in the pan Top 10 'hit'

'Lay Me Down' = 'Let It Go' = scraping the Top 40 for 1 week 'hit'

'Pixie Lott' = 'Heartbreak On Hold' = 1 week and never to be seen again Top 40 album

Career flushed. Shame, as I really like 'Lay Me Down'. :(

If she tries to break America and manages to be remotely successful it could help radios jump back on board with her.

She's f***ed.

Single: #11-20 :smoke:

Album: Top 10
