They should replace the definition of tedious in the dictionary to a loop of this song.

surely one play would suffice

another snooze-fest from ed sheeran :puke:

I think Cheryl will be mostly remembered for Fight For This Love in terms of music. That song was really popular and people still perform it on X Factor (especially this year as they want to "impress" her)

Call My Name just blends in to all the other dance-pop released that year. It's good, but it's not iconic

Really?! I already think Call My Name is sadly quite forgotten, more than FFTL at least.

I think FFTL was seriously massive back in 2009 but after her first stint on UK XF when she disappeared for a bit, her music wasn't played as much. Bear in mind she was also releasing another album only a year after FFTL so those new singles took FFTL's place on radio playlists. When Cheryl released CMN, there was huge hype since she broke away from using XF to promote and there haven't been any songs from her that's taken its place on the radio until CSL because nothing else (bar UTS which didn't do great) has been released. Sorry if that's badly explained, it's hard to think, type and listen to the chart at the same time.

Yeah I don't think 'Call My Name' comes anywhere near 'Fight For This Love' in iconic status. 'Call My Name' was exciting and hyped (subsequently selling loads) at the time because of Cheryl's comeback but I think it faded after that. 'Fight For This Love' was HUGE and I think that teamed with the outfit she wore in the video/when performing it on the X Factor is what she will most be remembered for musically in her solo career so far.

Biography

Although the first solo single from soul-inspired, London-born artist Sam Smith was issued in early 2013, it was his soaring vocal contribution to Disclosure's October 2012 U.K. garage track "Latch" which brought him to most people's attention. For most of his teens, Smith balanced study with music, soaking in the raw and passionate approach to performance exemplified by his favorite artists at that time such as Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, and Chaka Khan. "Latch" hit the upper reaches of the U.K. singles chart when Smith was 21, and many were surprised when his debut solo track took a more tempered path. The production on February 2013's "Lay Me Down" — also courtesy of the ordinarily dancefloor-focused duo Disclosure — recalled the stripped-back material that had proved successful for Adele in the preceding years. Next, Shahid Khan — aka Naughty Boy — decided to follow his Emeli Sandé-fronted U.K. Top Ten hit "Wonder" with the infectious, Bollywood sample-driven "La La La." Featuring Smith's powerful lead vocal, it became an instant May 2013 U.K. number one single following his spring tour in support of Sandé. - iTunes

Just when you think it can't get worse than Thinking Out Loud, enter Stay With Me.

and you still have his new one to come :kink:

I really can't get into Sam Smith, I do like La La La, but his solo stuff does not click with me.
and you still have his new one to come :kink:

Weirdly, I don't actually mind that one (just yet). Give it a month though & I can see that changing!
