The production on this is EXQUISITE. And frankly, considering how much this woman's come out with revelatory pop music in the past to a limp reception (Wind It Up? Push and Shove?) who can blame her for playing it safe for once? Especially when it's THIS GOOD.

This is too true! 'Push and Shove' not absolutely SMASHING is one of the biggest injustices of the last few years.

tbh Ketalina this actually is very Selena Gomez 'Come & Get It', and that's no mean feat for Gwen, what I find even more bizarre is this getting such a warm reception on here despite how recycled, faceless and basic it is. Whereas the likes of Gaga would be devoured by Buzzjack for not releasing something original and groundbreaking as a comeback single, yet Gwen and this mess can get away with it
kath hunni people are always held to their own standards. gaga did say for years how game-changing each new album was gonna be so she set it up for herself. thankfully she has calmed down!!!!
If it sounds good and she hadn't bigged it up as the second coming of music then surely it matters not that it's basic.

The difference is that Gwen doesn't try to claim every new release she comes out with is literally going to upgrade pop. And I say that as someone who adores Gaga.

I love this. The production is very Sean Kingston - No Letting Go (which is a tune so I approve).

Really really liking this, better than I expected actually after the underwhelming Fergie comeback single. Hope it does really well! :D

Kath I like you pumpkin but please stop making every damn topic all about Gaga. There is quite literally zero correlation between liking this song and liking / disliking Applause.

Welcome back, Gwen! Such a tune. I've only heard it once so far (last night) yet it's still in my head.
I can't believe L.A.M.B. turns 10 next month. Or that she's 45 years old! Time flies.

Always loved Gwen's solo stuff, her first album Love Angel Music Baby was fantastic and it's singles were amazing What You Waiting For, Rich Girl, Hollaback Girl and Cool and the album tracks Bubble Pop Electric and Crash. Her 2nd album wasn't as strong but still had a few great tracks The Sweet Escape, 2 In The Morning, Wind It Up and Orange County Girl.

But this new one, not quite sure maybe it will grow on me after a couple of listens

Orange County Girl is her worst song ever!

Get OUT. I saw her live and it was an absolute moment.

2 hours out there :P

Video is out tomorrow, apparently! :D

My video for #BabyDontLie premieres tomorrow on Vevo! Tune in to #TheVoice tonight for a sneak peek & join my Twitter Q&A after the show!

Loving this the more I listen to it!

God this is SUBLIME. I utterly adore the low-key feel with that dark, lush production. The rap's basically the only misfire of the whole thing.

Love it!

Can't say how it compares to the rest of her discography yet after such a long time away, but it's definitely better than 'Wind It Up'.
