I'm surprised at how Band Aid 30 has run out of steam so quickly. I'm sure it'll pick up again once airplay and the video play picks up and I'm sure some people will be holding out for the CD to be released in a couple of weeks/for it to become appropriate to purchase a Christmas song.

Would be a shame if it fell from the #1 spot next week, though is there anything out that stands a chance of beating it? X Factor could do wonders to David Guetta/Emeli Sande or Labrinth I guess.

Didn't an Elvis reissue number 1 last two weeks in the top 40?

Jailhouse Rock spent 2 weeks in initially then climbed back for a further 2 weeks during the same chart run.

 I read what Envoirment had written as a radio 1 dj said they would play it which intrigued me as to who it was but he actually said one radio dj. An easy mistake to make lol.

Of course yeh they always play music thats not on the playlist i just thought since they played Leona/Kelly randomly last decemeber why not just give the songs which were clearly popular some playlist support.

Oops sorry for the confusion. I found the tweet and it's from Alan Murphy of Glaway Bay FM:

Let's make One More Sleep by @leonalewis a Christmas classic!! I'll be playing it on my show every single day from December 1st. #Christmas

Fingers crossed other radio stations get on board. :cheer:

Also, in regards to future support from Radio 1, I think she'll get support. "Trouble" got a good amount of support despite the song not exactly lighting the charts up (Leona had also done a hackney project with radio 1 which is another reason why I think they playlisted it). Leona got a bunch of plays from them last year for a Christmas song too, so I think that bodes well for future support as long as the material is good. Leona's been working with some amazing songwriters/producers, so I think she'll have some strong material for her next album. Hopefully the lead single will be strong and I'm sure Leona will get a lot of promotion from Island records and she has better management too (who were amazing during the Christmas, With Love era). I think Leona will surprise people, fans included, on her next album. :)

I would love to see the David Guetta/Emeli Sande track get to number one! I hope the track will be released as an instant grat or a single in Sunday as this would give the track a bigger boost rather than waiting for Monday

They're performing it tomorrow!

Number 1's with fewest weeks in Top 40 (this week and last week's number one excluded for what I hope are obvious reasons)

3 - Blur - "Beetlebum"

Eva Cassidy & Katie Melua - "What A Wonderful World"

Justice Collective - "He Ain't Heavy He's My Brother"

McFly - "Baby's Coming Back"/"Transylvania

Jenkins/West/Jones/Gibb - "(Barry) Islands in the Stream"

X-Factor finalists featuring JLS & One Direction - "Wishing On A Star"

The only random one of those is Beetlebum surely it had loadsa airplay to stop its drop?!

Run  54, I'll be surprised if it makes top 40 on Sunday now.

Yeah I thought it would hold on at low top 40 but I can see it sliding out now. Probably end up at 43.

Mariah Carey is 46 combined atm maybe a few higher when you take away 1 or 2 pre orders.

TV performances tonight

Alan Carr Sam Smith Like I Can

Graham Norton Olly Murs Wrapped Up

Band Aid gets its first green update in 3 days :funky:

 04. Thinking Out Loud - Ed Sheeran

 12. Like I Can - Sam Smith

Olly's performance on GN hasn't done anything for him

A pretty big one as well, pushing Clean Bandit back from 0.55 to 0.49. Presumably must have had some sort of promo somewhere?

Glad to see it anyway, it's a great version of the song IMO and it was quite disheartening to see it plummeting so much in each and every update.

Alan Carr was mentioning it a lot during his show and interview with Sam Smith so I'm sure it helped. Hopefully as airplay increases it can remain steady enough until it sells a lot again in December!

Possible number ones in the next few weeks:

These Days - Take That (plus album boost)

Real Love - 'Clean Glynne' (although it being a second week will be unlikely)

Then there's the possibility of Koala by Oliver Heldens ft. KStewart but it's lacking pre's and Gecko was lucky to get #1 on a quiet sales week. It depends on what other releases the same week. It probably will be if there's no other good competition that week since Take That's second weeks sales probably won't beat Koala's looking at These Days pre's. After that it's very likely the X Factor winner single will be #1 but it's all just a theory!

I think Band Aid will keep the #1 until the X Factor single is out, there doesn't seem to be many challengers for #1 up to then (Take That next week and... well that's it really. I can't see Koala challenging for anything other than a top 10 position)
I agree with Dan Band 30 Aid will stay at #1 for a few weeks yet, even if its sales are just trickling over 100k next week. There isn't any other big releases till the X Factor winners track
2 Olly Murs - Wrapped Up (feat. Travie McCoy)
maybe a delayed reaction to the GN promo? Or maybe it;s just about time he had a spell at number 2 after Clean Bandit was so close to him all week.
