Maybe people are gonna wait till 14 December to buy that song so it can stop X Factor getting Xmas no.1

It will have MASSIVE sales once the CD single is released. I think it'll be over 150K that week, at least. Well on its way to passing 1 million. Far from a flop, even if it is worse than Band Aid 20.

I'm wondering who's going to be the fastest faller in the top 40 this week. Well, Gareth Malone's All Star Choir won't be top 40 on sunday. So, I don't know.

I have yet to buy Band Aid 30 as im going to buy the physical, i actually have 2 of them to purchase.
Does everyone think Band Aid will sell bucketloads on CD from the 8/12?

According to what I've read around The Internet today, the CD version of the Band Aid 30 Single has 250,000 'Pre-Sales' in ASDA Stores.

As a result ASDA has already donated the cash from them - £1 Million - to Band Aid. (At around £4 a copy for the CD).

The question is - have people really ordered 250,000 copies of the CD from ASDA, or are 250,000 copies what ASDA thinks it will sell in their stores?

The 2 things are not the same. (The first is a more or less guaranteed Sale, & the second is an assumption & an estimate by ASDA).

If its in all the supermarkets it has a chance i suppose!
These reports often turn out to be false. Didn't Amazon claim Pink Floyd's album had sold 100k pre-orders with them?
To be fair PF did turn out to be pretty big though. As did Military Wives etc!
I assume that is how much ASDA think they're gonna sell or how much they have bought from Band Aid to sell in their shops, but even that seems like too much. I very much doubt 250k people pre-ordered the CD anyway
Yeah presumably ASDA have pre-ordered 250,000 from Band Aid, which doesn't sound unreasonable - there are 568 ASDA stores in the UK, so on average each store gets 440 copies of the single, which if anything sounds like quite a small number.
Was the missing iTunes data ever recovered or do we have to wait for today's update?

If they don't have the data in time, it won't be included inthat day's midweeks update, you have to wait for them until the next day's update.

It was pretty big but not as big as the reports suggested, which was my point :P

Yeh the reports were over the top but it was the 4th fastest seller of the year with nearly 140k. I wasnt sure it would pass 50k before these reports showed the hype :P That was my point. Which in turn makes me think the Band Aid CD could sell well, maybe even well enough to challenge for the top spot in December. We shall have to wait and see i guess.

It's been four years since I worked at Asda but even when he had 100s of copies of event singles (like charity or X Factor releases) we'd never shift that many of them, 5-10 a day perhaps. I highly doubt that Asda would manage to shift 250k Band Aid physicals, very wishful thinking.
I doubt Asda has sold 250k of pre-orders for Band Aid. Most people download singles now a days.

Is "Jealous" the most popular song name this year? We have..

Chromeo - "Jealous (I Ain't With It)" (Belgium #4 (Fl) and #5 (Wa) hit!)

Nick Jonas - "Jealous" (US #10 hit)

Labrinth - "Jealous" (UK #3 on iTunes)

and even a foreign one..

Medina - "Jalousi" (Danish: 'Jealousy') (Danish #1 smash!)

I love the Chromeo one!!!

What? ASDA alone is going to sell almost as much as ALL combined sales it sold in the first week? I'm not reading this right, so I'm going to read it again

Even as an estimate it sounds OUT THA WINDOW.

Surely this is misleading information.
