The Band Aid 250,000 CD 'Pre-Sales' claims appear to be genuine.

Band Aid has already acknowledged ASDA's £1 Million donation, (from the 250,000 CD's), on its Twitter account:,

Soon we will see if the CD really will actually sell those 250,000 copies in ASDA stores.

Band Aid 30 back on top, still very close though, more chart info after 3:30pm, I won't be around hopefully Liam or Bre will step in.
I don't think 250k copies is necessarily that much. It's released on the 8th December right? I can imagine them selling out in the run up to Christmas - not all on the first week released obviously (or maybe they will? lol). I think with physicals, Band Aid could sell 1 million copies before the end of the year.

I still think Take That will take the top spot this Sunday with the Graham Norton performance. At any rate with this and their XF performance their album should fly off the shelves next week.

1st song played in at

15 NE Years & Years Desire

13 NE James Bay Hold Back the River

Inevitable tumble for James, should be top 20 as i think his single is still top 40 on itunes, though streaming could push him down.

5 NE McBusted Air Guitar

4 NE Labrinth Jealous

Loving this more and more, very christmassy feel due to the slow ballad style.

Staying at the top though its Band Aid 30...

2 NE Take That These Days

1 Band Aid 30 Do they know its Christmas?

Good to hear Take That on radio 1

Matt Edmonson: he has another song, called Let It Go, don't worry Jam, it's not that one

Jameela: I panicked.

!

Really liked the Years & Years song! First time hearing James Bay now, high expectations :D

I liked the James Bay song a lot, shame I have no money to buy it  Enjoying McBusted but I've known this song for a little while.
Am I Wrong back in at 33 :D

Plenty of them with NOW on sale. I assume without checking Magic is a RE too?

Thought it would have - it was 41 on Sunday. Still time i guess!

Olly's 25,000 copies ahead of 1D :cheer:

The midweek update we got earlier had a second Beyoncé entry in the singles top 40 (at #39) which was listed as a self-titled release so presumably was the sales of her EP - it's not there on the R1 website so it looks like they've caught their error already and I won't include it in this post. The EP hasn't shown up in the album chart though so no idea what's going on with it.

Hopefully not! That Hanging Tree song is really nice as is the James Bay track so I'm happy both are top 40 and I hope the former does hang on by Sunday. Not too happy about Labrinths track charting higher than Let It Be most definitely by Sunday but what can you do :(

Can I confess that I'm toying with the idea of buying a physical copy of Band Aid 30 in it's 2nd week. i.e. the week it'll no doubt be up against the X Factor for Xmas #1.

I'm going to do exactly that too! Shall we start a Buzzjack campaign?

Does anyone know where Cheryl's album is now?

In the bargain bin...

Is there any reason David Guetta's album has climbed from yesterday's #14 to #6 today?

The missing iTunes sales have presumably been added on now.
