When you think about it how stupid it is that songs are held back in the UK..all the people that heard Uptown Funk tonight for the first time then go to buy it and they realize they can't for another few weeks..weird strategy

I agree, I can't believe that we're nearly in 2015 and OA/OS still isn't the norm everywhere in the UK. Chart placings are important but surely sales trump everything else? That's what it all boils down to at the end of the day.

One More Sleep reached as high as #67 earlier but is now down to #78. :(

When you take out the multiple versions, pre orders and non eligible songs in the itunes chart, she is a lot higher. Feeling much happier with where she is right now. I think if things keep improving at this pace (assuming she is doing ok on streaming as well), I could see her getting into the top 40 by xmas week. Even if she only gets the one week, that still shows that the song has made a lasting impression on the british public and should have a presence around xmas in the UK for a good few years (especially if album 5 goes well and she becomes popular again).

Hopefully she has sold enough this week to get back in the top 100 for tomorrows chart, then top 75 by the end of next week (probably very wishful thinking there).

It won't do any harm to Uptown Funk if they release it in January, far better than just dropping it now as it would likely be caught behind the X Factor winner next week and January is the perfect sales climate and it could potentially manage 4+ weeks at number 1.
'Uptown Funk' should be brought forward a bit but not to right now, maybe for the first week of 2015 a la 'Timber'.

Good to see Fleur as the highest on itunes for once.

Can't stop watching her performance!

That's what I wanted to say earlier, I just feel the X Factor winners track is in the way, mind you I wouldn't mind Fleur releasing a version of Uptown Funk as her winners track :D

Everything about Uptown Funk is pretty much iconic including the video - it would reach No1 with any release strategy imo

A release AGAINST the XF winner on Xmas week would see a decent battle too IMO!

Wonder how many people went onto to iTunes eager to buy UF and saw the 12th Jan preorder and left :drama: :kink: :teresa: :arrr:

Wonder if Bruno Mars has an album planned for 2015?

You'd have thought it would chart very well on the back of Uptown Funk!!

Well it would chart well regardless, this is Bruno Mars we're talking about here :P But the exposure from 'Uptown Funk' should help him have another massive era yes, it's a well-timed reminder that he exists (assuming he is releasing an album in 2015 which I assume he will be as it's been over 2 years since 'Unorthodox Jukebox').

So glad that a performance of "Uptown Funk" is giving it even more of a boost. Easily the best track around at the moment and while I think it's silly to have it missing out on all these sales, at least it's got streaming to help it out. The record label are obviously keen to have it reach #1 is all, and I reckon it could get a couple of weeks at the beginning of 2015.

His last album had a very similar sound to Uptown Funk, I imagine he's gonna continue that sound

Maybe he'll be the Ed Sheeran/Sam Smith of 2015?? Although he was probably the biggest male artist of 2011 too!

Should be upset about a song pushing 1D back out of the top 10, but i can make an exception for this.
