Take That seem to have sold all their copies on day one - only 10,000 more sold on Tuesday.

Correct, Take That's sales stand at 96k today. That's pretty bad for them, even with the market considered.

I wasn't quite expecting Take That to cross 200k this time anyway if I'm honest.

Thanks for the early snippet Sunday. Lots of preorders linked to tour tickets then. Still reckon it'll be a popular Xmas pressie at the weekend and shift 175k+

First time hearing this Union J track, don't just want to put the typical comment but it is just bad. :/ Ed Sheeran would be the lesser of two evils to be #1.

That's the last of the big album releases this year, the album chart will be pretty quiet for the reminder of the year with lack of new releases, until the sales kick in early Jan 2015. I was expecting at least another 20k for These Days, but selling 10k is pretty shocking.

 

Hopefully we get some sales data later this evening from a different source to add with the updates.

I should point out 'Wrapped Up' was streamed 1 million times last week alone and is still #2 on airplay charts. And this was his third #1 album last week. People writing Olly off are stupid.

 

It's just a bit of a busier market to the one 'Right Place Right Time' came out in, but to suggest he's over because of one midweek position is ridiculous.

 

He is on 'The One Show' tonight performing and chatting and 'This Morning' tomorrow doing likewise so that should be nice little boosters anyhow.

 

No one thinks he's over, just plateauing out. If you go for a 4th quarter release to maximise sales it's always going to be competitive. Hats off to his team there can't be anywhere left for him to appear. As you say he's been blessed with Airplay. His sales would have been a lot worse without it

Either yesterday was a low sales day for some reason, or Take That's decline is just caused by massive erosion. 10k after selling 85k on then first day is awful. There's a possibility that Ed Sheeran's album sold more than that.

I didn't, but my expectations of the song boosted a little after everyone said it was a good, wintery ballad. I suppose 2 out of 3 isn't bad. :P

 

I wonder if Take That's sales were boosted a lot by the Cyber Monday sales which would explain why they haven't sold as well as expected on today's update.

Hozier #5 on Spotify, no lower than the 50s on itunes last night and yet he's only #35 officially today. Surely it would work out top 20 at least.

So Ed sold 2,000 more yesterday. He could be back at the top tomorrow if we get an update.

I'd imagine by tomorrow it will be level (or thereabouts) and friday he'll be 2000 in front.

 

However both are dropping back on i-tunes in favour of Taylor - but It will be the streaming that helps (although they have physicals... but I can't see that being much of a match)
