So, which one of these seemingly evergreen Christmas classics would you prefer to see higher in the charts this year?

Let's settle this 'war' :P

I love both and they're both deserving of classic status.

But I'm definitely Team The Pogues :D

Fairytale of New York [ 6 ] ** [85.71%]

All I Want For Christmas Is You [ 1 ] ** [14.29%]

Says it all ~ Joseph alone.

(In all seriousness OBVIOUSLY The Pogues as one of my favourite songs of all time let alone Christmas songs. Mariah's song isn't as bad as my bantering makes it out to be, I can sort of enjoy it close to Christmas when festivities are high but it is one of my least favourite Xmas songs ~)

Number of Christmas Top 10s "Fairytale of New York" has featured in: FOUR

Number of Christmas Top 10s "All I Want For Christmas (Is This Song to DIE)" has featured in: TWO

Winner is The Pogues. War settled. :)

Both are great and classic worthy, but Mariah's is the one that never fails to put me in the festive mood.

The Pogues' is one that's great to sing along to with a group of people though.

Mariah of course

(Bray urine off)

FONY > (Mary's Boy Child) >> Mariah

Love both though  Anyone else love Mary's Boy Child though? Boney M *-*

Why do we have to choose? I love them both.
I feel streaming is going to benefit Mariah Carey hugely, so reckon it'll be her time to be the highest peaking in 2014 - which I'm fully supporting. Will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years though.
Realistically it's very unlikely The Pogues will ever beat Mariah again, sadly they just don't have the same streaming appeal (they still do WELL on streaming, #6 in last year's Christmas streaming chart, but they can't compete with Mariah). We can only hope they'll continue to be close / ahead on sales occasionally.
