December 28, 201411 yr Leona's "One More Sleep" getting another week in the top 100 as a non-mover at #92! 3 weeks top 100 and 4 weeks top 200 this year is great! :cheer: Gorgon City down to #52 though. :( Hopefully it'll rise a lot in the coming weeks. It's been rising quickly on streaming and sales seem to be increasing a bit too (plus other songs falling ahead of it).
December 28, 201411 yr Author Looks like streaming of Christmas songs in the few days before the big day (and the day itself of course) will mean the post-Xmas week is the most packed with Christmas songs from now on. Got a few in that don't usually make it, such as Boney M. and Greg Lake (especially pleased for the latter, a song everyone seems to love but which never does well). YES for Coldplay sneaking in another re-entry as well, making it 4 out of 5 Decembers that they've managed at least one week top 100 :D And only one place behind Leona who really hasn't done particularly well, although her very late addition to the main Spotify playlist will have worked against her to be fair.
December 28, 201411 yr Oh nice to see Echosmith grab at top 75 hit. Could've done a little bit better had they released on a different week but I'm not that bothered. Edited December 28, 201411 yr by Robert S
December 28, 201411 yr Happy enough with take that's positions, great to see shakin Stevens make the top 40,overall its my 3rd fave x ma's song.Streaming has worked well for michael bible Christmas songs, great to see Leona and coldplay top 100 and for me a deserved and long overdue return for another x ma's classic by boney m. Edited December 28, 201411 yr by Aphrodite
December 28, 201411 yr Leona's late addition to the main Spotify Playlist certainly worked against her. As well as other factors like not being on compilations/59p but I'm sure some of those things will work in her favour next year.
December 28, 201411 yr Ella's Chapter One back up to #8, looks like it sold well over Xmas, will be interested to see how sales are approaching platinum... Also Ghost back up,to #30, must be getting quite close to 1m 'sales'.... Good debut year for her.
December 28, 201411 yr Singles sales/Audio streaming charts now up. Mariah misses the top 40 on sales :o Shaky misses top 75 on sales :o
December 28, 201411 yr Author The Pogues are 2 places higher on streaming than they managed last year, and Mariah is a place lower. Another victory for 'Fairytale Of New York' yassss. IIRC Wham! had the second highest Xmas song on streaming last year anyway so great to see The Pogues actually being in the top 2 this time even though they'll probably never beat Mariah's streaming,
December 28, 201411 yr Lmao @ that final position for Flutes  a pretty anti-climatic end to that year-long chapter, but hilarious nonetheless!
December 28, 201411 yr Author Ellie Goulding's 'Halcyon' has suddenly dramatically dropped out of the top 100 for the first time, from #72 - I wonder has it been moved to the budget chart? Seems odd for it to suddenly drop so much especially at a time when albums generally barely move at all.
December 28, 201411 yr Author A little sad that the top 6 album positions are occupied by male artists. There have been a couple of weeks this year where the entire top 10 was male :P
December 29, 201411 yr Strange that The Pogues, Mariah & Slade were the only Xmas song fallers this week. Some good re-entries for some songs that don't normally sell as many downloads like Boney M, Greg & even White Christmas which did well one year in 2007 I think but gets pushed down by others. Streams clearly helping him :)! Also Buble IBTLALC now reaching a new peak and his second highest song from the Christmas album!
