I LOVE that Neon Hitch song, again should have been massive <3 I never really expected it to though, I loved Get Over U as well but she was clearly one of those who is theoretically a good popstar but just never made it and probably never will.

See: Natalia Kills. Her entire output fits this thread too  Perfectionist was, funnily enough, perfection and Trouble was great too. I especially love Saturday Night, Break Ya Hard, Zombie, Mirrors and Wonderland.

Skylar Grey - invisible (I think this went top 75, I hoped/thought it would be big though :()

Lindsay Lohan - Over (given she was a big actress, it could/should have done better than #28 or whatever)

Yeah, it's really good! However, the follow-up is even better IMO.

Pretty much a template of how a pop/R&B ballad should be done.

Fully agree with these! Invisible and Over are huge faves of mine (also I agree with Saturday Night by Natalia Kills)

I'll add "Fly" by Hilary Duff, easily her best for me

Fly yessss  ADORE that. Also love Beware of the Dog, my favourite Jamelia track (and she has several great pop songs)

Liam I had a feeling you'd bring up Natalia!

She first came to my attention through 'Mirrors' and her feature on 'Champagne Showers'. LOVE her, thought she was very Gaga from 'Mirrors' who was still a huge force at the time so I thought she'd easily be able to smash. Bizzare that she still isn't huge. :( 'Saturday Night' and 'Problem' are insane.

"Surveillance" was never ever released I think, but it remains as one of my favourite songs ever and it's a crime that it never happened :(

Another unreleased gem that should've seen a release is "Head Bash" by Boo2 (Sugababes' Amelle and her sister). Thankfully, it was sold to German Popstar winners 'Room 2012' and appeared on their album.

This thread is probably not about unreleased songs, so I'll stop here :P

Here are a couple more

Now this should have smashed and should have been her breakthrough UK hit, but bombed by missing the top 100, dunno why it's catchy and mainstream enough.

This technically doesn't qualify as it was never released, but this was gonna be the 4th single from CAGI, but was cancelled due to her being dropped, which is such a shame as this could have saved the entire era.

Now this should have been bigger than it was, but did ok with a #14 peak, but deserved so much better and if released sooner then it could have smashed.

One I've just remembered! I was ALL OVER this when it was released.

Not a floppy SONG per se what with the iiO version being a no.2 hit, but I adored this hypnotic version that smashed in all the way to no.40 for one week.

ANY chance to lament the horror of her always flopping, I'll take it :( It's just that she's so commercial (maybe not so much with the second era but she probably thought "meh what's the point being commercial if I still flop") - Mirrors could easily be a Lady Gaga hit and Zombie could come from Rihanna's Rated R for example.

She is a judge on X Factor in New Zealand with her husband though, snatch that relevancy.

Googling Natalia and realizing I share a birthday with her :o that is Natalia, Jennifer Lawrence and Joe Jonas

I just decided to google who was born on my birthday after you posted this and I have found out Kristen Bell and M.I.A share a birthday with me :o Also Nelson Mandela but I knew that already (and I think I knew about Kristen actually but forgot) :)

Girls Can't Catch - Keep Your Head Up & Echo obviously :(

Echo. OMG WHAT A TUNE

OMG MPHO THOUGH

I loved Box & Locks at the time but haven't listened to it in a good 2/3 years :o I vaguely remember the follow-up too.

THIS deserved so much more than it's 34 peak. One of my absolute favorite songs of the past 10 years.

Omg yes. I loved it so much when it was released and was really hoping it would go top 10 at least. I remember following it really closely in the US too and wished it took off there too. It was climbing radio there slowly but surely and was featured on some nickledeon show which kept making it rise into the top 40 on iTunes there but radio just never showed it any love. :(

I think Shark In The Water did go gold in the US! Which is good for its peak (something like #67 :(). I agree it should have been massive though.

God I'm agreeing with basically everything in this thread

OH YES. <3 So much love. The one song that ALWAYS gives me warm, summer vibes. <3

I would also like to add:

I really thought this would end up a big top 10 hit at the time. Not a #38 peaker or whatever number it peaked at! :( It's so brilliant and a great use of sample.
