February 15, 201510 yr I forgot The Vamps actually, didn't realise they'd sold so many singles! And I keep a close eye on their sales too  They've done incredibly well, their album has also been pretty big, will eventually get to platinum :D
February 15, 201510 yr Fantastic result for Hanson! It's a shame T Boy and I seem to be their only big fans here.
February 16, 201510 yr A pleasant surprise to see Hanson so high. My inner 7/8 year old continues to stan for 'Mmm Bop' and 'Where Is The Love'.
February 16, 201510 yr Chris Brown has always proved that he can make some sure-fire music. I loved a lot of his first two albums, own Fortune and most of Exclusive, and enjoy him on a regular basis. Also how fitting to show his position on the list celebrating another UK hit! :D
February 16, 201510 yr Author 23.DISCLOSURE (1,171,000) 6 HITS http://assets9.capitalfm.com/2014/07/disclosure-brit-awards-2014-red-carpet-1392833336-large-article-0.jpg The act that introduced Sam Smith to the pop world, Disclosure came dangerously close to the No 1 spot “White Noise” but they haven’t yet quite made the top spot yet. Not so on the album charts where “Settle” brushed aside all competition in June 2013, they even managed to crack the US market when “Latch” made the top 10 in 2014. W_vM8ePGuRM

A feature on Olly Murs' “Heart Skips A Beat” became their only (to date) No 1 single though they came close with “Mama Do The Hump” which was produced by Norman Cook and a promo which saw a cameo by James Cordon. 8ip8OsExLJs
February 16, 201510 yr Author 21.SUGABABES (1,186,000) 11 HITS http://blue-box.blueislands.net/blue-box/sugababes/sugababes2.jpg Dropped by their record label and a member left, things didn’t look good for the Sugababes in 2001 and the chances of a second album remote at best. Then one of the most famous about turns in pop history in the 00s occurred when the girls got a new member, a new record deal, and to top it all the No 1 hits started to come three of which are in this total. Of course it all ended up messily but let’s remember them in their golden days...... 5RgVvYwp-VQ

February 16, 201510 yr I'm all caught up now! Definitely wasn't expecting Disclosure on here as I forget how young they are, INSANE levels of talent! Sugababes are of course an all-time favourite and like you said, what a turnaround! 'Angels With Dirty Faces' and 'Three' were solid eras! Like most of your threads Gezza, this one is incredibly fun to follow! :D I look forward to the top twenty unveiling.
February 16, 201510 yr Author Is Cher Lloyd actually still in the running?! :o Doh! another one I forgot! Though she would have been well out by now. 518k, I'll pop her into the list at the end. :P
February 17, 201510 yr Author Just a teaser, in the top 20 we have 9 groups 4 male soloists and 7 ladies!
February 17, 201510 yr Disclosure :cheer: They should increase their sales total by a lot this year with their next album due hopefully, obviously that won't help them in this chart as the teenager in the duo is now 20 (the other was never a teen in their hit making career)
February 17, 201510 yr Sugababes one of the greatest girl groups of all time alongside Spice Girls, All Saints, TLC, Girls Aloud, Destiny's Child and Bananarama. But Sugababes have had some cracking tunes = Freak Like Me, Hole In The Head, Push The Button etc, and shame they got caught up in the low sales era, if it wasn't for that they would have sold double that amount. Hanson = found memories of Mmmbop and yes I got caught up in the craze/ Edited February 17, 201510 yr by Acidburn
February 17, 201510 yr Here just for Hanson tbh. Been listening to all their material over the past few days. It's almost all better than MMMBOP. Such a shame that's all they'll be remembered for. Seriously leagues ahead of 'bands' like the Vamps and 5SOS.
February 17, 201510 yr Author 20. ELLA HENDERSON (1,203,000) 3 HITS http://img2.timeinc.net/instyle/images/2014/WRN/080714-ella-henderson-2-480.jpg Proving the odd adage that not winning the “X Factor” is far preferable to winning it, Henderson finished in 6th place on the show but was signed by Syco anyway which doubtless gave her access to Ryan Tedder with whom she co-wrote “Ghost” which became her first single and a No 1 to boot. kednXf_WWNY
February 17, 201510 yr Author 19. DESTINY’S CHILD (1,210,000) 8 HITS http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m4a6vag6mi1qjedgco1_400.jpg The first of two girl groups in a row and also the second of three with changing line ups- those girls just can’t get along! A young Beyonce was clearly the centrepiece of the group from the off, but the group managed only 1 top 10 hit from their first album here before half the group was fired and another two members recruited for the “Say My Name” video, with the group finally being paired down to a trio prior to “Independent Woman Part One” becoming their first No 1. Thankfully it all settled down after that just at the point that sales became ineligible for this thread! l145CAanYeM
February 17, 201510 yr Author 18. ATOMIC KITTEN (1,222,000) 5 HITS http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/01/10/article-2084877-002399B800000258-88_468x417.jpg Combining the tales of two very recent entries, Atomic Kitten at least kept their record deal during line up changes but as a last ditch attempt at surviving “Whole Again” certainly did the track making No 1 for a month and selling just shy of a million (for the purposes of this thread). The band had built three top 10 singles on the trot but each with ever diminishing sales and when “Follow Me” only made No 20 coupled with a poor selling album and the departure of Kerry Katona it all looked rather dire but it was “Whole Again” that made the following three years possible. 3zgz_pVkvcs

Whilst that may be true, they had huge selling albums when album sales were quite a lucrative market so I'm sure they were better off.
