It's a radio show for entertainment. What's a better marketing tool than giving people the chance to be heard on the radio? There's more to the chart show than playing 40 songs. Might as well not have a presenter otherwise.

February 8, 201511 yr There's nothing wrong with the odd one during the show but this is overkill! It makes the listeners feel involved if they get a shoutout rather have that then just a plain chartshow counting back from 40 to 1 that would be boring IMO
