I've never heard the new flo rida and usher songs (and judging by their previous songs, I'm not sure i want to).

Trust me, you don't want to

 01. Flo Rida "G.D.F.R."

Urgh. Going to go and listen to Years & Years a couple of dozen times on Spotify to ensure it doesn't make it there officially.

Genuinely gutted to see the sublime 'King' overtaken by a decidedly average Flo Rida by numbers track :( :snif:

A little piece of my soul has just died...I mean really?!?!

I knew we were due a crap number one but not so soon and not Flo-Rida :puke: let's hope and pray streaming actually helps and stops this I'd even be happy to see Rihanna get to number one over GDFR......

 at all the Flo Rida hate and Usher indifference.

They're actually good songs and when was the last Flo Rida song that sounded like this? If he released a song like 'Wild Ones' I'd understand criticism about genericness. Also, its only been on pre-orders since mid-Jan I think and I've heard it everywhere for a while now - on radio, on TV, out drinking or down the gym and loads of people knew it!

Would have loved Gas Pedal to get to #1 though!

:cheer: for Stormzy too, massive achievement to be so high at the moment. The song is absolute banger and the video's amazing (I'd reccomend it to anyone). Need more songs like this in the charts.

Actually I quite like GDFR but I bought it long time ago (it was released here immediately) :P

I can remember GDFR was available in the UK for a couple of days (made around #120) than it was deleted and put on pre-order.

THe Usher song is much better than Flo Rida's, but then I usually do like Usher. I don't even hate Flo (he has some good songs) but this is abysmal.

19. Stormzy - Know Me From

29. G.R.L. - Lighthouse

33. The Avener & Phoebe Killdeer - Fade Out Lines

59. The Vaccines - Handsome

1226. Loreen - Paper Light (Higher)

Would love Stormzy to go top 40 officially

Same for The Avener but it's looking bleak now :(

Yeah, this is going to flop in the same way Ferreck Dawn and Redondo did last year :(

On the plus side at least GRL are top 30, though I'm not expecting this to do any better than Fade Out Lines though both will no doubt be top 40 on sales alone...

It still hurts...

I really don't know why Lighthouse is struggling worldwide. It seemed like it had every ingredient to be a smash. :(
From the best iTunes number 1 of the year to the worst :manson: Flo Rida? Really?!

'G.D.F.R.' was available for a lot longer than a couple of days - it had been out for a few months before they took it down and put it back as a pre-order IIRC!

'Know Me From' isn't exactly my favourite song evar but I really hope it can make the top 40 as the chart is in dire need of some interesting and different sounding new entries.

Ugh, we were doing so well with the UK number 1s this year and now Flo Rida has to come and ruin it like he does with...well everything really :/ Listening to the song and it's not that good at all? Better than that ridiculous How I Feel thing, but very much Flo Rida by-the-numbers.

 28. GRL - Lighthouse

Yes! :cheer: Perhaps it can get at least top 50 on sales

Also not keen on GDFR being #1 on iTunes  I do adore a fair few of his tracks but it's far from the stuff I was used to from him, particularly from the Good Feeling era which was great  but to sink low to this genre is rather dissapointing :nocheer:

Still I hope it knocks down 45s :D

I was expecting GDFR to do well but didn't think it would knock Years & Years off #1. I just hope they can hold on officially

I'm finding it very catchy and I've been listening to it for a long time too! Surprised its got to #1 on iTunes though.

I think the reactions in the Chart Show Thread would be very interesting to see ;)

In all seriousness, it would be another great moment for the UK scene. Also, I'm surprised people are actually buying this - normally fans of acts like Stormzy just illegally download their music! The charts would look very different if all those people had iTunes accounts.

Nah, that would be the nothingness of that Ellie Goulding song.
