When people move on to 3rd/4th/5th singles I don't think top 10s are expected, I think album sales are what are important. Ella's album is still easily in the top 40. Job done.

I think not even breaking the top 200 on iTunes when the single is being supported by Radio 1 and you have a #1 single from the same era is a major under-performance no matter which way you look at it.

The album has sold decently (not great) so it's not like everyone already owns the song. The album remaining top 40 really isn't much of an achievement when the sales climate is so awful anyway on top of that. It appears as if the song just is not connecting with the British public at all, it is just a bad bad single choice.

You really are so weird.

Anyway, I hope GRL go Top 40. Also confused how that boring Flo Rida and Usher song are doing so well, have we stepped back in time to 2009?

Well what I meant was I would rather Lighthouse was cheaper to buy than the other new releases this week, so Lighthouse gets a better advantage and may indeed stand a chance of a top 40 :)

Anyway, GDFR is rather a dissapointment for me for Flo Rida :nocheer:

Although the top 5 is looking rather stale apart from King, so in a way #2 for this would be ideal (and hopefully pushes down 45s )

Not really, the video hasn't premièred yet and it has next to no promo whatsoever.
I wouldn't say Mirror Man is doing too horrifically, but it's not going to do brilliantly anyway. Hoping the video (it premieres tonight) and the Comic Relief performance will help it out a little.

I feel like the charts have been so starved of new music that I'm actually kinda happy to see Flo Rida and Usher doing so well, even if I haven't heard the songs and will probably dislike them. Would prefer 'Fade Out Lines' and 'Lighthouse' up there but some movement never hurt anyone.

I'd like to agree, but Ghost is twice as high and even Yours is 11 places ahead. Still, it's now at #245  , and ahead of Sunset Sons "Medecine" (#249), so hopefully it will comntinue climbing, maybe a little bit faster!

Ooh go Stormzy! Would be great to have another grime song in the top 40 (and one that doesn't feature Jme :o)

Flo Rida looks like he could actually get to #1 on iTunes! Up to 0.9305. Usher also up to #3. Still not heard either of these songs oop.

Quite bizarre how Flo is doing this well? I haven't heard any hype for this here in general, nor on any radio station or in any bar/club whatsoever, solely a few spins on music TV channels.

Same for Usher really, although Good Kisser seemed to land top ten completely out of the blue so he's clearly still got a raving fanbase somewhere...

2. Flo Rida - GDFR (feat. Sage the Gemini & Lookas)

3. Usher - I Don't Mind (feat. Juicy J)

22. Stormzy - Know Me From

29. G.R.L. - Lighthouse

31. The Avener & Phoebe Killdeer - Fade Out Lines

66. The Vaccines - Handsome

69. Eric Prydz vs CHVRCHES - Tether

237. Ella Henderson - Mirror Man

 01. Flo Rida "G.D.F.R."

Urgh. Going to go and listen to Years & Years a couple of dozen times on Spotify to ensure it doesn't make it there officially.

I hope it's not...

I vastly prefer Years & Years but it's nice to see that Flo Rida still has some sustaining relevance. His songs are a good bit of fun even if they are generic and formulaic like this one.

I heard it a few times over the past months but not that much. Capital has been playing GDFR (not sure about Radio 1 though). Seems like the sort of song that'd be big on Vine too. Also the song has been around for an eternity, they've held it back for probably about 6 months. Still wasn't expecting it to get #1 on iTunes though.

Well that is a rather unexpected #1! I doubt it'll get there officially though (might be the second song to be #1 on sales but not overall if Y&Y are doing well on Spotify? I can't say I've been paying attention). Flo Rida continues to amaze me with his longevity, he always seems to come back to relevance every time it looks like he's finally done for

Sage The Gemini at #1 though *_*

GDFR gonna be the official #1 then, huh. (kinda called that one a few weeks back #psychic7....:magic:??)

Looks like Lighthouse and Fade Out Lines won't be making the top 40, shame as we could have used a little more fresh blood in there. Silly me for expecting that I guess~

Why are we still living in a world where Flo Rida get still get a hit?
