Influenced by tapes brought back from illegal raves by older friends, he bought his first turntables in his teens, and while at university, started playing late-night sets on local pirate radio stations. In 1999, as part of the drum'n'bass collective Bad Company, he founded record label BC Recordings and the scene's most popular website, Dogs on Acid. After leaving to pursue a solo career, he remixed tracks for Pet Shop Boys, DJ Shadow, and Apollo 440, and founded the Breakbeat Punk label, which later merged with Adam F's Kaos Recordings to become Breakbeat Kaos. In 2006, he released his debut album, Escape from Planet Monday, and four years later, follow-up Kryptonite produced his first hit single, "Gold Dust," which reached number 24. Building on the commercial success that Kryptonite brought, DJ Fresh released the single Louder, the track - used in a Lucozade advertising campaign - became the first dubstep single to reach the top of the UK singles chart. 2012 saw the release of Fresh’s third studio album, Nextlevelism, which featured collaborations with Rita Ora, Dizzee Rascal and Juliette Lewis. ~ Jon O'Brien, Rovi / iTunes Chart history - Top 100 (Year peak title): DJ Fresh 2002 86 Innocence / Rehab (Fresh/Fierce/Ed Rush/Optical) -NAS- 2003 76 Dead Man Walking / Formula One (Fresh BC) -NAS- 2003 58 Signal / Big Love (Fresh BC) -NAS- 2003 60 Dalicks / Temple Of Doom -NAS- 2004 73 Submarines -1- 2004 74 Colossus / Hooded (Fresh BC) -NAS- 2004 68 When The Sun Goes Down (DJ Fresh Feat. March 8, 201511 yr Always makes me laugh when rappers call their work "art". But agreed, I highly doubt they care about being fit for radio if anything it increases curiosity sales... Why so? Rappers are artists. Their work is art. Unless they're a completely manufactured act that make music only for the fame.
March 8, 201511 yr Gravity is amazing, Thinking Out Loud beating The Nights I can forgive but this is behind that 4 minute 40 second horror is unacceptable.
March 8, 201511 yr My best friend developed an Ella Eyre obsession over the past week so I've heard this A LOT as of late. Really good tune though, yay!
March 8, 201511 yr Ella's vocals are amazing - such a great tone! Why so? Rappers are artists. Their work is art. Unless they're a completely manufactured act that make music only for the fame.
March 8, 201511 yr OH GOSH JUST DIE :puke: :drama: Thinking out loud is diabolical (and the fact there is still a worse song to come says something)

March 8, 201511 yr Let's take a moment to kick back and bask in the dulcet tones of Mr Sheeran. (or cry)
March 8, 201511 yr On the bright side, there's probably only 30 weeks left until this leaves the chart! :smoke:
March 8, 201511 yr Why so? Rappers are artists. Their work is art. Unless they're a completely manufactured act that make music only for the fame. Well I'll alter my point to include all musicians rather than specifically rappers. Just think labeling it as "art" is rather priggish. Music is majoritively a product with the sole intention of making musicians big bucks.
March 8, 201511 yr OH GOSH JUST DIE :puke: :drama: Thinking out loud is diabolical (and the fact there is still a worse song to come says something) I could not agree more.
March 8, 201511 yr 'Gravity' I'm just grateful this saccharine abomination is no longer polluting the top ten~ <_<
