January 29, 20187 yr Author Much more like the result 'Y Ddawns' deserved the first time *.* yay for SOLDOUT getting some redemption as well if not quite giving them a third BuzzJack contest win. x Absolutely loveee 'BINARY' so Jadakissnia are off to a fab start once more in 2018  v intense~ song. Quite *.* I had a fair amount of potentials for AC (as I'm sure many people did) so I'm pleased that I now feel like I made the right decision after finding it quite hard to pick. Sooo glad that you're into 'BINARY' I really hoped that you would be, so your reaction was most pleasing. Especially you stanning the trippy part of the song as that's definitely the ultimate highlight for me too haha. It is a shame that you're not in my semi but hopefullyyyy I'll be okay. Right back atcha with the fab start to 2018 *.*
January 29, 20187 yr Author good good GOOD luck with FKA twigs is all I can say :kink: <3  thanks Mattias for your support!! let's hope my next post in here is some good news x
January 29, 20187 yr Author ...and it looks like we do get to post some good news! BJSC loves K Á R Y Y N between the numbers It was just announced in Aeroche that we have QUALIFIED for the final of BJSC 101! We are absolutely delighted with this result as 'BINARY' is one of our favourite songs that we have sent to the contest to date. Up there with the likes of ONUKA, BLVCK CEILING, OVERWERK, HAELOS, MONOMOTION and Francis and the Lights. Hooray for the BJSC masses taking to this beauty. It would have been a shame to see a song that literally says "1" and "0" over and over again (during the trippy part) missing out on the final of 101 after all. Thank you very much to everyone in semi 1 who allowed K Á R Y Y N to advance further! We look forward to seeing how she will do in the final, where 'BINARY' has been drawn in slot 8, after the predictions seem mixed. From a borderline S DNLD qualification to being top 10 in the Rontvian odds! 'BINARY' extends our current qualification streak to 9 which is our longest to date *.* It is also our 24th qualifier to date out of a possible 28! So close to that 30th entry and streak of 10. We were super happy to see our 12 in the semi through but we were gutted that our 10 and 8 pointers missed out! Those songs in question were courtesy of Skall (with Bandolero - 'Paris Latino') and Ramrynia (with Lisandro Cuxi - 'Danser'). We are particularly gutted for the latter as it only missed out by two points! </3 we are pleased that Ramrynia gave it a shot nevertheless as 8 points is the most that we have given them to date. We also lost our 5 pointer from Rolloland (Marillion - 'The Great Escape') and 2 pointer from Aesthetica (Belinda - 'En El Amor Hay Que Perdonar'). Semi 2 went incredibly well as all of our would-be top 10 made it, except for our 2 pointer. This was Holland-Oats' debut 'YOU' by Morgan Saint. It is a shame that a debut qualification didn't quite happen for them. See you guys in the final! and for Worldvision III results tomorrow also *.*
January 31, 20187 yr Author Worldvision III Results Samira Said - Mazal http://wiwibloggs.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/06/Samira-Said-Morocco-600x400.jpg me in 40 years?? Tonight the results of BJSC spinoff Worldvision III were announced in Taahino with a fairly speedy reveal. Samira Said, representing Morocco with 'Mazal', finished in 18th place for us with 94 points! We are happy enough with this result as we wanted a top 20 out of 'Mazal' and it's an improvement on our performance in Worldvision II, with 'Flippaa & Kriippaa' by Epelit, representing Finland. We faced a poor performance of 29th there after finishing 1st in the first edition. Oops. Anyway, back to Samira! Not bad going for a 1980 Eurovision flop artist (she came 18th / 19th when representing Morocco there) who recently turned 60! Still making those bangers in her late 50s as 'Mazal' was released as recently as 2014 *.* We received quite a few high scores but just a solitary medal position. So thank you very much to Avalonia who slayed us with their taste when they awarded us with 15 points! The best news of the night is that our 18 pointer finished in FIRST place, fresh off our fave winning Andra Chansen also *.* This was of course South Danaelanda with the commanding 'Epiphany' by Crux, representing Malta. This was the third time that we have awarded South Danaelanda top marks in a spinoff and the second time that one of those went on to win, after 'Running In The Night' by FM-84 feat. Ollie Wride, when the nation masqueraded as us! The other time we gave them top marks was for 'Your Love' by Frankie Knuckles. Our 15 then went to a song that sounded straight out of a seedy nightclub at 3am - this was Dobago with 'Dle Yaman' by DJ Pantelis feat. Zara. This fellow dance nation were representing Greece and finished a little below us in 20th following a deduction! Finally, no strangers to our votes Trifoski completed our top 3 with their infectious offering from España - 'HDA' by Las Bistecs. This did very well for them as they finished in 9th place with 142 points! Thank you to the following countries for voting for 'Mazal', you all slay: Hushkanukia, Avalonia, Persephonia, FSR Rontvia, Cadelicia, Sandebörg, Unovia, Altyr Muunilinst, St. Burbia, Espen, Aeroche and Bøtanikkä  Another ethnic pophoe moment of ours (following 'Izin Korem' recently) is now over, t'was fun briefly being part of that bloc again as it's not a genre that we typically dabble in ~
February 6, 20187 yr Author BJSC 101 Results K Á R Y Y N - BINARY Tonight the fate of our BJSC 101 entry 'BINARY' was unveiled in very dramatic fashion in Aeroche, with a Eurovsion spin on things. There were twists and turns as we started off WINNING in the early stages and dropped to as low as 13th shortly before the jury vote was announced. Were the jury going to kill our top 10 dreams? Well... thankfully NOT as we finished in 10th place with 221 points! We are absolutely over the moon that we smashed expectations as not one person put us in the top 10 of the predicta. We did rank exactly 10th however in FSR Rontvia's odds :o so never underestimate their power! It feels incredible to start the year off with a top 10, just like in 2016, oh even-numbered years you do appear to treat us well. This is now our 10th top 10 (following 'Time', 'Virtual Paradise', 'Yo Quiero Bailar', 'WVFFLIFE (CHVRN Remix)', 'Toccata', 'Arcade Summer', 'Scope', 'Earth Not Above' and 'Waqqaberry') and very quickly continues our streak of having at least one top ten hit a year! The cherry on the cake is also that 10th is a unique top 10 position that we've been seeking for a couple of years now! We obtained the 6-9th places very quickly and had just needed that 10 to complete the full low top 10 set. Now we've got it, yay! We also have a 2nd place and a 3rd place (well, two of those) so all that's left to obtain is 5th, 4th and of course, 1st in the top 10! Can we hit some more top 10 targets this year? Only time will tell. But for now we are ecstatic that the BJSC masses rewarded our beautiful 'BINARY' with such kindness. It fared well in semi 1 also where it finished 6th with 79 points! Back to the final, we received 6 medal positions on this occasion: A gold from Skall, a silver from Aeroche and Cadelicia, then a bronze from Altyr Muunilinst, Deandria and Persephonia! Thanks for the love guys *.* It turns out that a BJSC mod scooped the crown this time just like in 100! Republique d'Ashton won this edition with irresistibly catchy bop 'Sofia' by Alvaro Soler. We awarded this charming Spanishy offering two points so we were happy to see the nation fending off strong competition from Land of DW and Taahino. Our 18 on this occasion was the mysterious but ultimate masterclass of building 'Bánh Trôi Nước' by Hoàng Thùy, sent by Lotunia. Our 18s are off to a good start this year as the huge standout managed to place in 6th, hooray! Our silver medal this time wasn't so successful - that was '$ORO'-soundalike 'Sympathy' by Est-Her, sent by Desbuanda, which fell a bit short of the top 20 in 22nd. Finally, our bronze was courtesy of Quintessa and their short but stunning mostly-instrumental 'Deeper' by nervous_testpilot. This one didn't quite live up to its second place in the semi and ultimately finished in 13th. But that's still no bad going nevertheless! Thank you to the following for voting for us in 101: Aeroche (15), Avalonia (10), Lotunia (11), Bøtanikkä (5), St. Burbia (11), Cadelicia (15), Persephonia (13), Pupok (7), N DNTN (8), Terra Avium (6), Aelandor (2), Cowtermont (12), Fljótavík (4), Beaverdonia (10), East Rukahavian (12), Quintessa (8), #00274E (5), Aesthetica (4), Altyr Muunilinst (13), Dobago (5), Espen (1), FARC (1), Holland-Oats (3), Deandria (13), Rolloland (6), Skall (18) & Unovia (3) updated points given / received top 10s: GIVEN 01) 269 Persephonia +12 02) 160 Terra Avium +08 03) 136 Trifoski +06 04) 106 Singerpurear +09 05) 104 Espen 06) 102 Quintessa +13 07) 97 N DNTN 08) 95 Kluminican Republic 09) 88 Fljótavík 10) 81 #00274E RECEIVED 01) 264 Persephonia +13 02) 205 Terra Avium +06 03) 167 Espen +01 04) 157 Deandria +13 05) 145 Quintessa +08 06) 133 Aeroche +15 07) 132 Suedeonia 08) 130 Skall +18 09) 115 Land of DW 10) 113 Kylienips Thanks once again everyone for starting off the year on such a high! Party at the brothel?! :kink: anyway, see you all next month in Asthon with an insanely good 6-minute breakcore instrumental that is a Max Richter reworking. How in vogue after Terra Avium's recent Andra Chansen win x Expect strings (of course) and mind-blowing build-ups, we're obsessed quite frankly.
February 6, 20187 yr I was expecting this to only do about as well as aYia, yay for it smashing through that *.* x Did you just sneakily give away your artist for 102 tho x
February 6, 20187 yr Author I was expecting this to only do about as well as aYia, yay for it smashing through that *.* x Did you just sneakily give away your artist for 102 tho x Yeah that was a good shout as it didn't sound like an obvious smash at all, just something that would have a few big fans. But there we go, woop woop <3 Errrr, I guess I gave away the artist of a heavily used sample in it but not the actual artist name (nod) x -finally goes to bed-
February 6, 20187 yr Oh right, I thought you were saying it was Max Richter doing the remaking  The remaker being remade then ;o x hyped x
February 18, 20187 yr Author BJSC 102 Goreshit - the nature of dying la5UHh6Zopc The entries for BJSC 102 have been revealed tonight in Republique d'Ashton following their win last contest! This month we have an attention-grabbing artist name to represent an equally attention-grabbing instrumental! 'the nature of dying' is a breakcore reworking of Max Richter's 'On the Nature of Daylight' and a pretty darn immense one at that! A lot of YouTube commenters keep mentioning Osu! in relation to this song, which is a freeware rhythm game! So grab that gaming promo. In true Jadakissnia fashion, the sampled part is a stringed instrumental courtesy of Richter. Then Goreshit (omg r00d name) does his thing and whacks some seriously mindblowing production in there which can only be described as an EXPLOSION of sound, when it gets to the ultimate highs of 2:28 and 3:54 *.* just you take a listen yourself and you'll get what I mean. Oh yes, the duration of this entry is around the 6 minute mark so we've upped our length game from around 5 minutes last month! We hope you guys really enjoy this intense instrumental as the Jadakissnian people really can't get enough of it! This is our 29th entry to date and if 'the nature of dying' qualifies then we will hit a qualifying streak of 10 for the first time :o so please help us out semi 1 people! We are in slot 25 this time.
February 18, 20187 yr Author So f*cking good oh my god Cheers Jeff for the early hype! you gave me 12 points last month and now this, 2018 off to a very good start *.*
February 19, 20187 yr at first glance I thought this might have been your first time going metal or something  what with bands usually having titles of that ilk quite commonly but yea this is a cool instrumental. shame I listened to it once I saw we were in opposing semis. ah well :') Edited February 19, 20187 yr by RobS
February 19, 20187 yr Author at first glance I thought this might have been your first time going metal or something  what with bands usually having titles of that ilk quite commonly but yea this is a cool instrumental. shame I listened to it once I saw we were in opposing semis. ah well :') haha I can see why you might have thought that! Sadly no metal from Jadakissnia this time (although we kinda went metal for the Halloween spinoff, but yeah, not quite the main contest so far) and instead some wondrous breakcore *.* glad you enjoyed it, a shame that we're not in the same semi this time! Especially as your entry sounds very up my street based on description alone.
February 19, 20187 yr Wasn't sure what to expect with that artist name, but I was pleasantly surprised when I listened through it! I expect this to do well~
February 19, 20187 yr Author Wasn't sure what to expect with that artist name, but I was pleasantly surprised when I listened through it! I expect this to do well~ I am loving this subverting of expectations  *.* I really hope that you'll be right about this doing well, my last DNQ was exactly this time last year so it would definitely be nice to avoid repeating that! Thankfully I do think that my semi looks favourable for this kind of thing.
February 23, 20187 yr Here for this to slay  x if only for the novelty value xx (seriously though this was just as awesome as I expected it to be from that description, I can definitely see this being one of your biggest hits yet).
February 24, 20187 yr Author Here for this to slay  x if only for the novelty value xx (seriously though this was just as awesome as I expected it to be from that description, I can definitely see this being one of your biggest hits yet). Oh yes, this is ever so novelty :kink: Beav's novelty radar cannot be messed with! x So glad that you're loving 'the nature of dying' though as I was really hoping you would be on board big time, yay  This does seem to be getting a lot of hype so I would love for it to be one of my biggest hits, fingers crossed! --- JADE'S BJSC EOY 2017 Hey guys, I have not forgotten about this! :hi: However, I have decided to switch up the format. I am going to be diving into dissertation work next week and I'll be busy with all my University assignments for the next few months, but I don't want to wait until all of that is done, I want to finish it now! It typically takes up quite a few hours of my evening just to write a section of 10 for my EOY, so I came up with an idea where I could get my whole top 50 done in one night, while I have a free weekend. This is of course my other favourite thing to do aside from writing at length - making videos *.* so have a watch of the video below to find out what my top 50 songs of BJSC 2017 turned out to be and relive all of those fine musical moments :o 15TCYWgOnmM These are the songs that just missed out and ended up in the 51 - 100 region (well... 51 - 102... turns out that I messed up and forgot to include 'Distante' and 'The Downtown Lights' in my original list, when I was double-checking last night :drama: so ignore everything I posted previously except the write-ups x 51. February 25, 20187 yr Just took a peek to see where 'Paper Games' ended up but I will listen in full in the next couple days and look forward to doing so! I've genuinely been craving BJSC recaps lately (been listening to Iz's on Soundcloud) so thanks for reading my mind *.*
February 25, 20187 yr So pleased you enjoyed Klum Rep entries this year! And Butterfly, Archangel and Innerbloom have done me well :D also I have to say I really enjoyed the video format. It was good to be reminded of your highlights of this BJSC year and not necessarily the big hitters that stick in people’s minds!
