Is it safe to go to sleep yet or has Boris thrown another rave already?

Absolutely living for this Tory civil war but beyond furious the Met aren’t doing shit. At this point everyone who has been prosecuted by the met for covid breaches should launch a class action suit against the met and the gov because there is absolutely NO WAY the met didn’t know about these parties at the time. No way. There are cops all over Downing Street.

The met needs to admit what it knows and when it knew it, officers need sacked and those responsible in No 10 prosecuted for flagrant and wilful and repeated violations of the covid rules. They literally made the rules and they couldn’t be arsed even pretending to care. The met is up to its eyeballs in this. It is unfit for purpose

^^This!

I mean how much alcohol gets consumed at Westminster/Downing Street feels like Don Draper is PM and it’s the 1950s again, the only time you see alcohol in my office is the Christmas party seems like in No10 Has this on any sunny day!

Btw anyone see the man with the jazzy blue shirt of QT tonight defending Boris at every turn, was that you ciderman? 😁

Fully agree with this - the Police have really let themselves down throughout this pandemic. Derbyshire Police in particular who had those awful drone shots of old couples walking their dogs in the Peak District with the caption 'Is This Essential?' and then fining those two women going for a socially distanced walk during Lockdown 2. Don't forget the Sarah Everard vigil debacle!

I seriously think Cressida Dick (you wait centuries for a female Police Commissioner and you get one with the surname DICK) should have gone already but apparently being absolutely fucking hopeless at your job is prerequisite for promotion in the UK. That's probably why Priti bloody useless is the Secretary of State for the Go Home Office I guess.

It's also the press who are involved - some (James Slack, The Sun) were at these parties. The whole British establishment is corrupt and I hope these revelations finally get people to see that!

People being upset that Tony Blair has been knighted - so was Jimmy Savile! It's hardly an endorsement! 🤣

This'll most probably be one of the stories that cuts the deepest. Especially as a lot of those who voted conservative in the last election will be supporters of the monarchy.

God that is horrific optics for them. I can't imagine that any key Tory demographics are going to be happy with that particular little picture. Nor would anyone in the country really.

I've been sceptical on his downfall but seeing the stats for PMQ viewings, and the way that leaks are coming out and being continually hammered on, I think this is it as far as the press is concerned, I think very soon he's going to be poison for the party and there's no one who could replace him that would stop the downtick in its tracks.

The Met are complicit in this, that's an indisputable fact. This is why they won't investigate it.

Turns out that bunch of mendacious crooks in No. 10 weren't just acting as if they're above the law, they actually ARE above the law.

It's absolutely crazy that the Met need a report from someone employed by the alleged law breaker to investigate. It's as if I was CEO of a firm which embezzled thousands of pounds (which our Government also love to do coincidentally) they would only take action should a junior staff member incriminated me directly in a report for which I had final appoval of.

The hypocritical and scary thing about this is that the Met will be bringing in more draconian laws and powers against protestors and travellers later this year whilst our scumbag rulers are laughing in their faces.

Yup even Phillip Scofield on This Morning went live to PMQs on their show which says it all really!

Totally agree about the Met, 2021 was not a good year for them and under Cressinda Dick's leadership they seem to do the opposite of what they actually should do. She should have been removed or resigned herself a long time ago, way too many gaffs.
Another example of one rule for us and one for them - re. The Met refusing to investigate the Downing Street lockdown breaches. More allegations have surfaced this morning of further parties at no10 on the eve of Prince Phillips funeral.

Two features of fascism right there!

The Met aren't bringing in the rules, the government are. The Met has even said they don't feel they need some of the laws Pritti Ghastly is bringing in.

He has to go now surely? Even Tory stalwarts must be utterly outraged at this picture, the Queen at a socially distanced funeral and the public unable to mourn a royal death in the usual manner. There's no amount of clamouring or apologizing can surely undo this. It says enough that my reaction was 'oh another one' rather than any anger

If Labour are reading this the line at PMQs is quite simple:

'It seems the PM and his staff are rather fond of their dancing, but Prime Minister when the party's over, I think you better go now?'

Liz Truss is telling us all to move on though! They are so used to these stories breaking and just denying the truth and it goes away. Seems this time is a bit different as even some of the his allies are going for him,

So, the PM has no idea what his staff are doing in his property, whooping it up having leaving do's doing covid regulations and during the mourning period for the Duke Of Edinburgh.

Just to note that, as per Govt instructions, I have been working from home for 2 years and when long-standing friends and colleagues have left during that period we have not been having leaving do's, not even for people I have known for 37 years.

If anyone had doubts that Johnson was anything other than a lying hypocrite, and I never have had any doubt that was the case, you would have to be a complete moron to try and excuse him now. That would show a complete inability to accept facts and make you look to be as hypocritical as Johnson.

That is all.

Why the fuss? The partygoers only broke the law in a very limited and specific way and are now very sorry. Besides, they have all changed their phones since then, so they have forgotten all about it.

Chris is that you?

Unfortunately I've had the misfortune of listening to people who defend him today. Some peoples capability for mental gymnastics is astounding - unsurprisingly those who were inclined to break the rules in the first place quite inclined to go 'they were just doing what we were all doing.'

It’s coming through now that no.10 had ‘wine time Fridays’ throughout the pandemic which Johnson sometimes attended but always encouraged.

I do love that Brenda from Bristol is being wheeled out again in her meme form so much.
