Indeed! As much as it seems to be reported that X Factor is on a downward spiral & unable to produce long term stars anymore the statistics are speaking for themselves :)

1D might actually open better with OA/OS release when all the fans buy it because it's new

Pretty much agreed. Honestly I never really understood their standard "release it after two weeks of pre-orders" plan - it was pretty much the perfect way to ensure that the hype died down before release but the general public hadn't caught up yet. This seems far more sensible.

Mis-Teeq have already done that though.

I've just looked this up, and you're right - Montell Jordan's original only got to Number 11. :o I always thought it was a Top 5 hit!

Is there anywhere to find the full midweek Top 40 since Radio 1 have stopped publishing it?

Mis-Teeq have already done that though.

Mis-Teeq's cover was a double a-side for "Roll On" and it also appeared in the film "Ali G Indahouse"

I hope that somehow the Chemical Brothers hold on to their midweek top 40 position.

seems very unlikely especially as spotify data is missing

That last part isn't ENTIRELY accurate according to a certain member on here who has links to Capital...

Bray, could you give me a link to that conversation? Thank you!

Should 1D go to #1 it'll be their first since their cover of "One Way or Another" in February 2013. The first week sales for their previous #1 singles:

What Makes You Beautiful: 153,965

One Way Or Another: 112,616

Little Things: 85,308

Will it beat those 3 do we reckon?

It should beat 'Little Things' but I don't think it will cross 100k, let alone beat the other two.

I doubt it'll beat any of those to be honest, it only sold ~6,000 copies yesterday and is plummeting on iTunes.

Probably will make around 80K in total for the week (including streaming).

OCC have tweeted that Cilla is #59 today and 930 sales off #40
One Direction may come near to the sales of Little Things but certainly not the others. Sales aside, its another number 1 for them. I cant see them matching number 1's achieved by Westlife or Take That over all but would think they could have another 2 number 1 singles left in them yet.
